Chapter: 7

Shadow Pov

Alright I need to keep watch on Amy. Knowing how dangerous this mission is I really worry for her. I just came to the opening to the new city hall to make sure everything was safe and I'm glad I did. Amy being how she is tried taking a bullet for the dumb hedgehog. If I didn't came at the time and push her out of the way........she would be......no, that's something I can't even imagine.

"SHADOW WTF?!?! What are you doing here?!?" Amy yells pushing me off her. It amazes me how she acts as though saving her means nothing.*chuckle* That's Amy for you.

"Yeah I'm glad I came. You would have a bullet in your head if I wasn't here." I tell her. She slowly widens her eyes.

"Oh........you're right." Amy says while turning her head to make sure everyone's ok. Yeah that's the Amy I know. She hasn't even thanked me.

"Oh thank you for saving me." I say trying to copy Amy's voice. Amy picks up Sonic who is staring right at me. *sigh* I broke the first rule of shadowing since I let the target see me. Wait what was it that I needed to do..................OH YEAH. I forgot, he thinks Amy is my girlfriend........it has a nice sound to it. It does hurt a bit to know that it's just a way of getting back at him. No this is my chance to show Amy that I mean what I say. I truly care about her........I would have gladly taken that bullet for her if I had to.

"Hey Shadow long time no see, but I feel like this isn't the best time to play catch up." Sonic says pointing to the building which the bullet was shoot from.

"Yeah I agree, let's go." I say while starting to go with Sonic, but we were both held by our collars.

"The hell you guys are." Amy states. "I am going, but you guys aren't going anywhere near there."

"YOU'RE NOT GOING ALONE?!" Sonic and I shout at the same time.

Amy Pov

"Oh yes I am. Anyways the place is most likely empty by now. It will just be a quick look and Shadow you're not supposed to even be near here. Sonic I'm supposed to protect you and going with me can possibly be dangerous." I say to them.

"You're right, but-" Shadow starts, but I cut him off.

"No buts and with the scene this shooter pulled, there will be news cars here soon. That would mean the commander will see you and we WILL be punished for this." I explain to him in a serious tone. I feel like he forgets I'm a higher ranking officer than him.

"Ughhh......I hate when you're right, fine. What CAN I do?" Shadow asks.

"I'll give Henry, our limo driver, a call to pick you guys and Tails up and he'll take you to Sonic's house. Wait for me there while I investigate the building. Also where the hell is Tails?" I ask noticing that Tails is nowhere to be seen.

"Oh I heard him say he was going to the corner store for a drink. Here he comes right now." Sonic says while waving for Tails to come over.

"WTF I'm gone for 13 mins and there's been a shooting, Shadow's here, and the mayor is unconscious on the floor!?!?" Tails states shocked.

"Oh will you look at that, the mayor is unconscious on the floor. On another note Henry is coming to take you and Shadow to the house. Amy please don't argue with me, I'm going with you no matter what you say." Sonic explains to me while he starts jogging to the building. This hedgehog really doesn't like instructions does he. Well I guess I can't stop him.

*A couple flights of stairs later*

"I don't get why this buliding doesnt have an elevator?!?" Sonic complains.

"For being the fastest thing alive you complain a lot on moving your legs." I tell him jokingly. " This is where the shoot came from."

As we go towards the window where the shooter took the shoot we notice a phone on the floor. Sonic looks towards me signaling to pick it up. I pick it up noticing there's a call on hold. The caller ID is labeled MR. R. I take a deep breath and push on the call. I quickly put on the loud speaker so Sonic can listen as well.

"Hello who the hell is this?" I say with a calm tone.

"Well if it ain't my favorite pink hedgehog." Mr. R says in deep voice which sounds familiar. Who is this......I heard it before.

"I said Who. The. Hell. Is. This." I say making sure that this person knows I'm not playing around.

"Sad that you don't remember me and is the blue one there too." The man says through the phone speaker.

"Wait....it can't be. You're behind bars still." Sonic says with shock.

"Oh you know better than to think any jail can hold me hahahaha." The mysterious man begins to laugh.

"There's no denying that voice it's Eggman without a doubt." Sonic states, finally reveals the man's identity. What that can't be we had that old man thrown into a high security jail for a life sentence. He's out, but....................how?

"EGGMAN is not my name you BRATS it's Dr. Robotnik!" He begins to yell. " I didn't just set up this call just to let you know about me getting out, but of something else."

"Spit it out Eggman, I don't want to play any games." I say wanting to know his reason for setting up this call.

"I told you................I don't even care anymore. I called to let you know that.......one of you're close friends will betray you and take both you hedgehogs out." He states with a laugh in the end.

"How do we know you're telling the truth. Also why tell us to begin with?" Sonic questions Eggman.

"It makes destroying you guys all the more intresting. I made it harder for you guys as well. I got my agent to spread the word that you wanted to make a small get-together for your old friends. I'll get to see you guys suffer." Eggman explains to us. Dam that asshole really thinks he's got us.
"Well that's all I have to say. Good luck trying to escape this one Sonic. By the end of this week my agent will take your life. Trust me when I say you won't see it coming. Hahahahahahahahahha!!!!" He says ending the call.

"Sonic.......do you think we should even trust him?" I ask Sonic wanting to know what he thinks of this.

"Knowing that egg shaped bastard he's telling the truth. But, of course we don't know that, we'll just keep our minds on alert till we know what he says is true. He said his agent scheduled a reunion, we'll see if that's true." Sonic says while thinking what to do.

"Don't worry. We'll wait to see if that's true and if it is we will plan then." I tell him trying to calm him down. I rub his back which instantly causes his shoulders to relax.

"Yeah you're right. We should just relax for now and plan later." He sighs out.

"Hopefully we'll be ready if there really is an agent of his. If there is who can it even be?" I say outloud. An old friend who isn't afraid to kill both of us.......................I'm starting to worry.

So this is the end of chapter 7 and I hope you guys enjoyed it. I'm so sorry I didn't update sooner. I was planning on an authors note to notify you guys that I was going to be busy, but I wasn't able to put one up. Again I'm so sorry I just been very busy. Now I'll be updating a bit more regularly............at least I hope so.
