Favourite Record // Fall Out Boy

Okay, so this book is now going to align with Hidden, which is a little bit ahead. If you've read it, there's a spoiler in there, and I realised that so I've got to catch up with this one. Enjoy!

Charlotte wasn't going home for Christmas break. Instead she was going to the Burrow.

She still wasn't entirely sure how it happened, even though she remembered the conversation very well. Well, yes she was glad to not go home and face an awkward Christmas at home, but somehow going home with Fred and George seemed even more awkward, especially under the terms she was.

Fred had approached her two weeks before the end of term, after they had Charms. He dragged her off to Weasley central, and sat her down. "Lottie," he started, and Charlotte winced. He knew she very much disliked the nickname, but did not seem to care. "I need your help."
"Give me what you got."
"Well, you see, I made the discovery that George has a girlfriend, and naturally I told Mum. In a letter back that's probably the length of you-"
"Hey!"
"-she invited her to come home for Christmas. And, you know, George and I, we've always done everything together, and, well, Mum thinks that I also have a girlfriend."
"Okay, and where do I come into this?"
"Mum told my to invite my "girlfriend" home, and uh, I don't actually have a girlfriend. But Mum's already gone and got gifts, which means that I would be rude if I didn't bring a girl home. And that's where you come in." Charlotte went over this in her head.
"Oh, I couldn't."
"Come on, Lottie. It would give you an excuse to get away from your home, and it's not like it's real." But unknown to Fred, Charlotte really did feel things for Fred. Juliet had taken to teasing her on it. "Please?" Fred tried one last time. Charlotte looked at him, and sighed.
"Okay, fine."
"Thank you!" He pulled her into a hug, and Charlotte patted his back.

Charlotte informed Rick and Juliet of this, and they told hr that meant she'd have to get the entire family presents. Charlotte was more than happy to do this, and with a list of who'd be there and the help of her friends, she managed it well. She knew Ginny, Ron, Percy and Charlie but she had to get some description of Bill, who had been Head Boy in her first year. Of course, she had gotten to know Fred and George well, so it was only Mr. and Mrs. Weasley who she struggled with.

The rest of the week went by normally, until the last day, where Fred or George nor any other of the Weasley kids were at school. Charlotte didn't panic, though, as they'd sent her a letter saying how their Dad got injured and went home early to see him. Tomorrow, they'd be at the King's Cross Station to pick up Charlotte and George's girlfriend, a pretty but quiet Hufflepuff named Ella Hardy. Ella looked constantly nervous and so Charlotte made an effort to get to know her. It turned out she and George had actually been dating since their first year, and Charlotte congratulated her on keeping it secret for so long.

The next day was a giant rush. Juliet and Charlotte both woke up late, and hadn't even packed. There wasn't anytime for a shower, so they drowned themselves in deodorant before heading down to get breakfast. Then, it was a race to carry on packing and get onto the train on time. They did it, but barely just. The found Rick in a compartment, looking content and the girls joined him, flopping on their seats with Juliet literally on top of Rick.
"What happened to you two?"
"Last night, someone though it would be a great idea to stay up late and pull an all-nighter," Charlotte said.
"Hey! You had a part in it, too."
"I am so glad that I am not one of the girls in your dorm."
"They were a part of it, too."
"Girls," Rick said, rolling his eyes. Juliet smacked him.

Charlotte got off the train, and immediately saw Fred and George. She said a quick goodbye to her friends, before walking over to the twins. After a hello and a hug, Ella joined them and then they set off, as Grimmauld Place wasn't too far away. Charlotte and Ella were both made to promise that they wouldn't tell anyone anything that went on there, or who they met. They could only really say what they did.

It wasn't a long walk, and as soon as they got in, they were bombarded.
