2003
Armando Samuel Berenguer is the Donald Trump of the Philippines.
His reach for success, however, had not been easy. With only a small amount of money, Armando dreamed big of using that small amount into something that the Philippine industry of cooking has never done before: mixing dishes of different culture into one solid dish. He started his experiment when he decided to put cocoa powders of Tiramisu on top of a creme brulee instead of crusted sugar. Or mix Russian cuisines with Japanese's and Greek with Mexican. His restaurant had gained popularity ever since and it has not stopped for Armando.
Despite his success at this moment, he's very much worried about the future. Although his eldest son Hugo has a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, it does not seem like he's going to be using in the near future. Instead of taking care of their business as his first son, Hugo chooses to womanize every single night and teach soccer to little kids. It bothers Armando very much because his thirty eight son does not seem to be interested in their business as his younger son. Paolo, is still in college at Pratt, an art school in New York which drives Armando even crazier.
Although Armando cannot seem to find a perfect man for the job, he knows he has found the perfect woman.
Her shoulder-length, raven black hair stands out from a distance even with the ponytail. Armando's newly hired personal assistant Lillian Valdez has been calmingly managing the customers waiting for the next vacant table on the waiting area. She is only a couple of years younger than Hugo yet she is definitely much more mature than him.
How he wish Hugo would end up with Lillian, but Armando knew better. Lillian deserves more than his womanzing, immature son.
