Lillian could not believe what she just read. No, she told herself. She's not wasting any more tears for that bastard. Instead of tears. she felt numb. Numb. She felt numb with anger that she didn't even hear her doctor calling her name several times until she patted her shoulder.

"Are you okay Lillian?" Dr. Marasigan asked concernly,

Lillian tried to calm herself and nodded, "Yes. I'm okay."

Lies.

"Let's see what's going on then," As Lillian followed Dr. Marasigan to her office, Lillian felt her knees shaking.

She's never felt so mad before.

"Well, it sounds like you're expecting Lillian. Congratulations!"

Lillian was speechless. It didn't even occur to her that she may be pregnant.

"Are--are you sure Doctora? Hindi ba baka dahil lang sa stress?" Lillian asked, nervous and uncertain,

"What you told me are the typical signs of pregnancy. Kung gusto mong ma-siguro talaga and to be more specific, I can recommend a good ob-gyne dito din sa hospital. I can tell my assistant to schedule you if you want,"

Moving closer, Dr. Marasigan asked, "If you don't mind me asking, have you been sexually active lately?"

Lillian was taken off-guard by her question and she felt herself blush. Dr. Marasigan giggled, "That answers my question then,"

Lillian took another deep breath. She couldn't believe her life would completely change in one day. Dr. Marasigan noticed that worries in her eyes and held her hand, "Are you okay to have this baby?"

For the first time that day, she felt herself smile in true happiness, "Yes, doctora. Hindi ko lang inexpect pero God knows how happy I am with this baby,"

Dr. Marasigan held her hand tighter, "Lillian, your baby is very lucky to have you as a mother. I don't want to ask about the child's father but trust me, you are enough."

She hoped so. She trully did because she could only offer herself and her love, if it means everything.
