CESS'S POV
It’s my turn, now.
When the lights turned on, I saw three people with masks, sitting on three high chairs (you know like a throne). I looked everywhere and Mariya, Tracy and Kristina are there. I smiled at them.
When I looked around, I saw a plastic chair with red fluid around. Nicole was just talking to me minutes ago, and now… I gasped. “Nicole!”
Kristina talked to me. “We know. She’s dead already because the terminator there…”
“Who’s terminator?” I asked.
“Nothing really,” She looked down.
I frowned. “I’m sorry.”
Kristina looked down and I saw something that shined from her, and I realized that she dropped a tear.
I looked at Mariya and Tracy. They’re just focused at Kristina.
Someone walked in front of my view. “Please don’t block the view!”
It turned at me. He had a mask with black wavy lines at the left side. It said something with a deep voice. “You young lady,”
“I’m not young. I’m 15 turning 16 this September 8.”
“What is it today?”
The guy with light blue design that looked like paint splatters mask told him something. “My liege, it is already August 22, sir.”
I thought of something. His voice is familiar.
“Uhhh, sir,” The guy with red spray mask for design, interrupted the two. “It’s August 21 already.”
His voice is also familiar.
“Well, then.” He put his four fingers (without the thumb) under my chin and raised my head. “Let’s give this beautiful girl a birthday present.”
It’s time to pretend, Cess.
I took a deep breath and told them my wish. “Well if it’s an advanced birthday present you want to give me, give Mariya too. Her birthday is on September 2.”
“Well is that your birthday present from us?”
“No.”
“What is it you want?”
“I want to see Thom Tom.”
“Who’s Thom Tom?
“Thomas Torres.”
“Well, your wish is my command. But there are some complications.”
“What?”
“That Thom Tom you’re talking about will arrive later in the afternoon.”
“Really, what’s your name, then?”
“My name is My Liege.” He put his face nearer on my face. “But you can call me ‘sir’.”
“Ugh!” I made my face further and stick out my tongue.
“Sir, My Liege,” The guy again with the red spray on his mask.
“Yes, what is it expeller?”
The expeller guy was taller than my liege. The expeller went near sir and whispered something.
“Ezina’s plan didn’t work?”
“Apparently sir,”
“I’ll go down with you and punish my assistant. Tell terminator that he must be ready to kill these people.”
“Yes, sir,” He left leaving the liege inside.
“Now girls,” He called us. “I must leave you for a long time. Don’t worry you will be in heaven later.” Liege left.
The terminator, the guy with blue paint splatters on his mask, went in. He was holding a knife.
“Please, don’t kill us!” Mariya screamed.
Terminator removed his mask. Val was the terminator all along.
I knew it! That’s why his voice sounds familiar.
Val said something. “Don’t worry. Those two knuckleheads are stupid.”
“Where’s Nicole?” Tracy asked.
“I didn’t kill her and I promised her that no one of you will be harmed.”
Kristina sniffed. “Thank you.”
“Now, listen up. This is no ordinary thing to say but I’m going to help you, guys.”
“What’s the plan?” I asked.
“Listen. I didn’t kill Nicole. I let her free for some reason to study my plan that I gave for you guys to stop those two.”
“Who are the two?” Kristina asked.
“Ezina is Andie and My Liege is Karl.”
Mariya snapped. “So that’s why My Liege is smaller than Expeller.” Mariya looked at Val. “Wait, who is expeller anyway?”
Tracy covered her face with her hand.
“That’s a pretty nice question, Mariya.” Val said. “Expeller is Bruce. About the plan, I will give you tips. Since you know who is like this and like that, I will tell you everything I know. Kristina received a text from Andie right? That’s her sign that something bad is going to happen. She joined Karl just to destroy the five of you. Do you know the doll? We knew that already. We thought this before this practice but it was still me, Bruce and Karl in this. We have pretended that Karl was our enemy. Okay, look there was a fight this morning. The four of us, Nicole, Kristina, Bruce and I, pretended that they defeated Karl but that was just phase one. This is phase two. When I realized Nicole is not bad at all, I wanted to quit but Karl refused. He wanted me in this so he could find some way to destroy CDC. I was the weakness of Nicole and Bruce was the weakness of Krisa. Krisa, I hope you’re not hurt but this is serious. Let’s go back to the part. Since we were the weaknesses, Karl already had the chance to destroy CDC. He thought of this, years ago. But I’ trying to help you. I that’s all I know.”
“That’s a long speech.” Tracy said.
“Now, I need to set you free.”
Val cut the ropes and set us free.
When we’re free, we rushed towards the door.
“Cess,” Val called me.
“You guys go ahead! I’ll catch up.” I told the others. I looked at Val. “What?”
He was holding a box with light green back ground with green pencil sketches that form ovals. He handed me the present. “Give this to Nicole, please.”
I took the present.
“Don’t look at it.” Val reminded me.
I nodded and left.
