I dedicate this chapter to Marc, my best (male) friend, because I always love dancing with you and because of everything you have gone through the last days! I really love you, you know that ;)

Writers POV

Breathless, but laughing they reach the ice cream parlor. They sit down at a free table and order their ice cream. They are talking and laughing, forgetting everything word that happens the last weeks. The sun sets and the music in the parlor is getting louder. Out of the blue Amanda is standing up and hold her hand out for Simon.

Simons POV

"Take my hand, take a breath, pull me close and take one step. Keep your eyes locked on mine, and let the music be your guide." Amanda sings along with the song. I take her hand and start singing:" won't you promise me, that you'll never forget. We'll keep dancing, wherever we go next" While we are singing the chorus together, we dance a walz to the music.

"It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you. It's one in a million, the chances to the feeling the way we do, and with every step together, we just keep on getting better. So can I have this dance? Can I have this dance?"

Now it is my turn again:" Take my hand, I'll take the lead and every turn, will be safe with me. Don't be afraid, afraid to fall, I'll catch you through it all." I spin her around and take the lead. I hold her close and with every step we get more confident. Then I hear Amandas clear voice again: " Even a thousand miles, can't keep us apart. 'Cause my heart is wherever you are." The people watching us dancing between the tables of the ice cream parlor. I could see the big smiles across their faces. It came to the chorus again.

"It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you. It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do. And with every step together, we just keep on getting better. So can I have this dance? Can I have this dance?"

It starts to rain. I feel the warm tear drops on my skin, but we don't stop dancing. Amanda's hair stick wet on hair face and so does her clothes.

"Oh no mountains too high and no oceans too wide. 'Cause together or not, our dance won't stop. Let it rain, let it pour, what we have is worth fighting for. You know I believe, that we were meant to be"

For the final I put her up and spin her around and together we sing the chorus the last time.

"It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you. It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do. And with every step together, we just keep on getting better. So can I have this dance? Can I have this dance? Can I have this dance? Can I have this dance?"

I let her down again. We stare into each others eyes and I loose myself in hers. I strike her wet hair out of her face and slowly move my head forward to Amandas. Our lips nearly meet, as something interrupt us. The loud noise make us quickly move apart. While Amanda blushes and shut her eyes down to the floor, I look up and search for the reason, that interrupt me from doing the one thing I dream of the past 10 years.
