afraid of the dark? good~

ch 10

Shazza had gotten the sandcat, that she had found, working finally. After figuring out that we needed at least 5 more to get the thing started. I had held Ali on my hip for a while after the death of mark, his two brothers and jack had followed me as well. After a while I handed him back to imam and went off on my own.

Riddick had silently slipped away from the group as they got ready to depart and went to find Tessa. Finding her sitting in the building where all the water is, he watched as she silently talked to herself. So soft like that even he couldn't hear. Tilting his head he opened his mouth but couldn't even say a word.

"Don't."
She stood up and turned to him, her eyes as cold as ice. "Don't even say a word right now."

"Why? You miss him?" He teased hoping to get a reaction from her.

"....." She didn't do anything.

He slightly pouted, that wasn't what he wanted.

" LETS GO WE'RE MOVING OUT!" Johns yelled from somewhere outside the building. The sound from the sandcat got closer and closer. Tessa pushed by him and hopped onto the sandcat, riddick behind her. Moving herself around she stood behind Ali and the other kids, placing her hand on jack's shoulder, him smiling at her. Once they got through the bones in the valley they made quick work getting back to the campsight. Looking up tessa saw that the suns were all in a row and at the low horizon a planet was slowly coming up to meet the suns. It was beautiful in a deadly way.

" move!" Johns pushed tessa towards the ship to get supplies while they got the heavy stuff. Paris took off instead and said he would get the stuff.

'Probably his alcohol...'

Tessa could tell it was getting darker and darker by the seconds. Turning towards the suns she paused, the planet had already started covering up the bottom sun and was quickly making its way to the second.

"We won't make it..." She said, jack who was beside her started shaking.

Shazza started cussing and started up the sandcat while jack got to work wipping off the dirt on the round solarpanel. The second sun was half way covered up when the screeching started. Tessa froze, and looked towards the mounds, by now everyone had stopped what they were doing to watch as the third sun started being covered up. Narrowing her eyes she saw that the mounds had started breaking down and small bird like things started to fly out.

"I THINK IT WOULD BE BEST IF YOU WERE TO FLEE!" paris yelled from the safety of the ship. At his voice everyone took off, save tessa, riddick, and shazza.

"Beautiful..." Tessa turned to riddick and raised her eyebrow. Shaking her head she grabbed shazza by the arm and pulled her with her and started running, shazza screamed out and yanked her arm free from Tessa and slowed down.

"Shazza!" Zeke yelled out.

Turning tessa saw them out of the corner of her eye, they flew fast and ducked down low to reach the three of them.

"GET DOWN!" Tessa screamed and dived onto the dirt. Shazza and riddick beside her. They flew over and curved around, tessa slightly leaned up and looked around, they were coming back. Laying back down, shazza shot up and took off again, tessa shot out her arm and tripped her just as they flew back over. Her arm wasn't as low as she thought it was because the monsters picked tessa up just by her arm.

Screaming was all they heard as she was carried away, while the last sun was being covered up.
