Up above~ Brooklyn's swimming practice! :)

~~~~~~~~~~
Brooklyn~
I finish off my classes of the day and walk out to my car, and when I get there, my phone starts ringing. I look at the caller and smile.
"Hey Carl!" I say sweetly.
"Brooklyn, you're having practice in 30 minutes."
"I thought that was tomorrow..."
"Change of plans, that's why I'm calling you."
"Okay, I'll be there in 20."
"Go home, get your swimsuit, and eat a banana. Then you'll come." He says.
I smile, Carl is like another father...
"Yes sir."
"See you soon Brooklyn."
"Yeah, see you!"
I drive home and I see my parents are both on the couch, my mother's arms crossed... what was this? My father stands up.
"Come in for a second?" He asks.
I frown and sit opposite them. "What's going on here?" I ask them.
"We're going to have to talk about these house rules." My mother starts.
I widen my eyes, shocked. "Mother, are you kidding me?"
"Why would I?" She asks.
I roll my eyes and cross my arms, then looks at my father. "Was this her idea, or yours?" I ask.
"It's ours Brooklyn, just listen to our side here. The least you could do." He says.
"The least I could do!?" I shout, standing up. "I am alone here for almost a year at a time while you go god knows where. When you leave, we don't even call each other... What's this new thing about house rules!? I'm 20 years old, I can look after myself!"
"If you live in this house! You follow our rules, no age difference changes that!" My mother shouts.
I huff in annoyance and turn to leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" My father asks me.
"I have swim practice, I need to get ready." I say.
"You're not going anywhere until we're done."
"Guys! I cant be late for this! We can talk later if we have to!"
"If you don't come and sit here. We'll be taking swimming meets away." My mother huffs, standing up.
I widen my eyes. "Now that mother, is crap. You cant do that!"
"I can."
"The house rules may apply to me because I live here and the age doesn't matter. But hell no, you're not taking swimming away, I could file a report of this! I'm quite interested in that at the moment!" I shout. "Now excuse me! I have no time for shit like this, I'm going!"
I run up to my bedroom and pack up my swimming stuff and I'm out of the door with a energy bar in my hand from the kitchen. Gladly, my parents weren't in the lounge when I left. I cant believe they think they can take my life away, it's just disgraceful...
They weren't always like this, I once loved them with every fibre of my body. But then their jobs took them away from that, they began to travel and hardly be at home. And soon after, we drifted apart and my mother didn't seem to see me as her daughter anymore, at least not the same way afterwards, and my father seemed to not have a mind of his own, just followed my mother's steps the whole time.
