Rehearsals for the Starkids' newest tour were in full swing. This time round, it had been decided that the new tour would have a mix of songs from both the previous tours as well as songs from their more recent musicals.

The group of 8 performers were currently sat around the rehearsal space waiting for their next instructions from their fearless director Julia and 'Cool' Clark, the music director.

Meredith, Lauren and Jaime Lyn were discussing what their costumes may be for the new tour with June, who had attended this evening's rehearsal. Joe Walker, Dylan and Brian Holden were in a heated debate over which of their songs were better, while Clark was assuring them that all of their songs were great. And Joey and Brian Rosenthal were sat closely together in one corner, talking amongst themselves in hushed tones. Their conversation similar to one that they had previously had..

▪2 days earlier▪

Joey was starting to panic as he and Brian Rosenthal were walking back to the hotel they were staying in while in Chicago after another tiresome tour rehearsal.

"What if she says no? What if she thinks I'm a total idiot? What if she gets embarrassed when we finish the..." Joey couldn't finish his sentence as Brian grabbed his upper arms.

"Dude calm down. You love her, right?" Joey gave a definite nod in response.

"And she loves you, right?" Although hesitant with the answer, Joey just nodded his head once more.

"Then what's the problem? It'll all work out buddy!" And with that, Brian gave his panicked pal a pat on the back and strode on ahead to their room, while Joey was stood in the hotel doorway, just him and his conflicting thoughts.

"I hope you're right" Joey said, as he thought of the little black box that sat on his bedside table.

▪Back to present▪

"Alright slackers" Julia's voice sounded through the studio "Break's over! Joey, Rosenthal, up you get, we're going to do a run through of 'Listen to your Heart'. Everyone else, stand or sit behind them as you did in Apocalyptour." Julia winked in Joey's direction as the Starkids got into position for the start of the number.

Joey sat himself on the floor while Brian stood next to him; the music started

You look a little down Joey...

And soon she'll love us like we love her
Who knows what tomorrow'll bring
The time is right to make my/your move
It's time to give her the riiiiiing

Joey gave Brian pleading eyes. Pleading him to back out of their plan now while they still could. But it was too late. The other man was walking towards him and placed an all to familiar shaped object into his hands.

The rest of the group was looking on in amazement at the two. And also in confusion. So they just decided to go along with it. Especially a certain small brunette, who was none the wiser.

"Now don't loose it again Joey" Brian said in his 'Joey's Heart' voice with a wink, while both men walked back to their positions either side of the rehearsal space. They continued the song

So, Joey, what'cha gonna do?
I'm gonna listen to my heart!
Oh buddy, it's my big debut...
I'm gonna listen to my heart!
