PAIN ME Little Dragon

listen to I Know I'm a Wolf

A dragon, a dragon
Soaring alone

His claws are sharpened
His eyes are so cold

Blood stains his teeth
He will not deny

He's lived to kill
And taught to bite

Death taints his soul
Or so he's been told

A dragon, a dragon
Empty and cold

Scales like a shield
Broken and old

He's been left behind
He's been abandoned by his kind

Fury fans his flames
Anger clouds his mind

He soars through the air
Only half alive

A deer, a deer
Is coming near

The dragon's lair
Smoke flies through the air

He lifts his menacing head
His gold eyes - dead

The deer hears none
The dragon hears lungs

In and out
Badump badump

Goes the heart, filling with dread

Pumping red,
filled with blood

He watched in silence

She gazed at scenery

Interested was he
Curiosity and sincerity

Her coat was bright
Her nuzzle wet

The dragon was captivated
The deer was next

He was alone
Nowhere to go

She traveled the world
In herds they roamed

The dragon rose,
prepared to go

The deer did twitch
She drowned in fear

Casting off like mistle mist

Heartbeat harder
Legs pumping farther

The dragon caught up
A roar did erupt

From his old and cracked fangs

Saliva dripping like poison in veins

The dragon grabbed her by the throat
Instantly killing her

A sad song note screamed
from her dried cracked lips

A last goodbye erupted
Like a mourned eclipse

The dragon dragged her to his bed
The deer was cradled by her head

The dragon feared being alone
He was born to kill and condone

The death of natures beautiful kin
To rip and tear at her skin

To take the doe piece by piece
And gobble her up like boiled geese

But the dragon left her corpse askew
Never touching her body or goo

He left her untainted
Minus the blood

A constant reminded
Of the monster he was

Blood stained his teeth
He would not deny

But his heart was empty
Like the deer’s cold, sad eyes

The dragon cuddled with her rotten flesh

He cried alone
He’s killer no less

A dragon a, dragon,
With a heavy heart

Sat alone
Wet in the dark

The doe, her blood
Stained his scales

But all he desired
Was the touch of a heart

A pure, beating one
Unlike his dark heart

The pain that the dragon feels
Is something we can all relate too on a spiritual level

Are you the dragon or the doe?
