MAGIC POTION PILLS
She had a bright soul
But her heart was on fire
Despite that she was cold
Frozen desire
She would pop the pills
She'd pay the bills
But her swollen shut eyes
Kept her from her demise
If it were up to her
She'd be buried in dirt
A different pill
For a different day
Tracing window sills
From the hospital bed
Her soul was now dim
Her body so thin
There was no will to live
When her thoughts were sunken
Ghaunt face and dead eyes
The meds are all lies
She feels numbed and fake
Like a plastic doll date
She was skin and bones
Just pills and alone
As the days went on
She saw no one
No one entered her room
She let the pills consume
Her.
She lived a lonely life
With pale skin and sunken blue eyes
Her lip quivered in fear
Her heart leap and jeered
Days turned to months
Nothing changed, not once
But then a song did play
It shook her awake
Like a broken fairy spell
She smiled and wailed
The music saved her
She battled her curse
With her battle cry
She said "pills goodbye"
She could fight on her own
No more magic potions
Her emotions controlled
Her desire unrolled
With tears in her eyes
She thanked God and his wife
She was safe and sound
In her own life now.
