MORALITY?

|Who is truly evil? The one who does what is “right” or the one who knows he is wrong?|

It should be noted that I have no sense of morality.

Within the dark murk of my mind it seems many get lost — confused even if they stay long enough.

So I decided to try my luck on a young man.

He went by the name of Harold.

He was a sharp boy, and I knew I could have fun with a fellow like that

“You're late,” I said as he entered my door.

He glanced down at the dirty watch on his arm and I watched him struggle as to whether or not to correct me.

He decided against it. Smart boy.

“So what are we going to do?” He asked.

I smiled.

“Take off your shirt,” I demanded. “Don't keep me waiting.”

Harold seemed to internally question my sanity. If he thought I was defective, it would be an  understatement. My mind was almost as dark as my eyes — consumed by the poison that ravaged my soul and soaked in my essence. Harold shivered as my gaze ran over him. He could sense the evil tainting my very being.

“So,” I began, “you wish to die, Harold?”

His eyes flashed.

“Yes sir,” he said. “I don't feel like being here anymore.”

I licked my lips and circled Harold. The floor beneath his bare feet was dusty, a single, hanging bulb lighting the dim room. I was naked — it thrilled me to devour the dead with my bare body pressing against their corpse. It was almost euphoric.

Harold's eyes said otherwise.

“Tell me, boy, why have you come to me?” I asked.

The young man seemed suprised. In only his trousers, he whet his lips and then seemed to avoid my pointed gaze.

“I-I, uh...” he stuttered. “I don't see any point.”

My lips curled in satisfaction. With a growl low in my throat, I threw Harold down on the ground. He screamed, as blood poured down his skull. His body cobvulved as my hands started to rip into his skin with my nails, slowly peeling back flesh as I whipped them back. I could see his heart pitter pattering. His cries fueled my hunger, and my lips pressed to his throat.

Within minutes, I had sucked all the hatred from his heart, and all that lay before me was an unconscious man — perfectly unharmed. He had entered my mind to find death. But I didn't feast on the deceased bodies. I devoured the dark black that spiraled inside the hearts of people. I never said I was good.

I will always be evil.

But perhaps, despite my lack of morality, my purpose in life was more than just a monster.

Although, the word devil, sounded fine as well.
