Chapter 9

                Walking to a part of town I’ve only been with my dad while on a case with him. Before getting too far Joe turned around and looked up and down at me before sighing. He looked at Marie than back at me Marie stared at him and shook her head.

                “Haillee I need to know something from you.” Joe started I looked at him and crossed my arms over my chest realizing how stupid I really am I mean come on I should have brought a knife with me or something for god sake. “How do you know when a suspect is guilty or not?” I smirked I’m going to tell them the truth only because I know they won’t believe me.

                “I can read minds.” I stated like it was the most obvious thing ever Marie almost laughed and I saw her cover her mouth Joe just stared at me. I decided I would read their minds, first Joe I figure I’ll get more information from him.

{She can read minds no way ha. Wait she might be serious, I mean she’s seventeen just turned and in college if she could read minds than she could just read the teachers mind to get the answers. But why wouldn’t she try to go earlier unless she didn’t read the teachers mind. Though thinking about it, it might be how she knows if a suspect is guilty or innocent. Ah damn it I got to tell Mr. Smith he has the truth of who killed my mom. God damn it I still don’t know if I should I mean she could just be pulling my leg. Actually I think she is she keeps staring at me.} Well that kinda got me nowhere, I did get into this college on my own merit thank you, but I didn’t expect his mom to actually get killed. I know you can’t read my thoughts dude but I’m sorry for thinking that was a lie.

                Next is Marie I looked at her she was now laughing uncontrollably I threaded my mind through hers. {Haillee Storm a mind reader that’s hilarious if she was she would have known that Oliver was cheating on her since the beginning I mean they were together for what at least a year I’m not even going to tell Steve about it. I mean come on she’s lying.} I stared at her seriously a year in a half of him cheating on me. How is it I didn’t even hear a rumor about it.

Because you wouldn’t have listened to it. And now I’m hearing voices in my head lovely I’m going insane. “Alright I’m guessing you guys don’t believe me want me to tell you another reason?” I asked they looked at me I never said what I was going to tell them was the truth so if they find out it’s a lie I can easily say I never said I was going to say the truth ha. “I’m a genius a genius like me can tell when someone is lying like Joe you were telling me the truth about your mom being killed but you were lying on who did it. And Marie you’re just a slut.” I stated turning around to see someone I would rather avoid at all cost my older brother Rayn.

                Shit how did he find me actually thinking about Rayn does disappears’ right after school maybe he’s doing something illegal. “Haillee you need to come home mom is worried about you. I don’t know what you are doing with Martin and Marie but please come with me now.” Rayn said I looked at him confused did he just call Joe Martin? I looked at Joe and saw his eyes wide Rayn smirked a little “oh did you not think I didn’t know who you were. Come on man my father is a detective, the only reason Haillee didn’t know who you were was because right after meeting you she ran away from home.
