Chance

Enjoy.

I asked you a question,
But the answer never came.
We made plans on Saturday,
But I didn't hear you call my name.
We were going to go skiing next winter,
But I guess maybe not.
I guess I didn't hide everything from you,
You still managed to do it.
Now I won't be able to see you grow,
Or drink hot chocolate with you after playing in the snow,
I won't get to see you laugh or cry,
The chance for that ended when you said goodbye.
I wish you could've just given life a chance,
I wish you didn't decide it was time to go.
I wish you would've let me in,
Let me see the reasons you were hurting,
But I guess now I'll never know.
You might have thought this would be a good thing,
That you leaving would make us all glad,
But what you didn't seem to consider
Is that you weren't the only one that was sad.
Here's what I found out when you decided to die:
There are other solutions to your problems,
Don't stop your fight.
Keep going until you're stronger,
Give it all your might.
Don't let poisonous thoughts come in,
And tell someone about what's going on within.
You might have chosen the permanent route,
But I'm not done with life.
I'm going to keep on fighting,
I'll give it all my might.
I miss you so much,
But I hope that now you know:
Your problems are never too great,
You can fight them,
you know.
But you need others to help you,
You can't do it on your own.
So I ask to those who are struggling,
Those with scars and tattered hearts,
Keep on fighting and don't give up.
You might think no one cares,
And you might think you won't be missed.
But that's where you're wrong.
Someone out there loves you,
Very, very much,
So instead of making them miss you,
Let them in, and show them what's up.
Because in this life you will have troubles,
But they'll be taken care of,
Not by a noose or a knife or a gun,
But they'll solve themselves,
So just give life a chance.
