HYRA'S POV
He was trembling when he rushed into the room.
"I'm alive, don't worry."
"I was scared," he admitted. Had he seen a ghost on his way here? "Seeing you like that brought back everything. I feared I might lose you."
He buried his face in my stomach. Oh, how I wished he'd bury his face between my thighs instead.
"You love me, don't you?"
"Y-yes," he stuttered, looking cute.
"Then why were you so cold to me?" I remembered the days he pushed me away and hated me.
"Because I thought you wanted excitement, and if I admitted my feelings, you'd lose interest in me."
Wait! Maybe it's because I've been asleep for three years, but my brain couldn't process Conan's words.
"When did you start liking me?"
"Since the moment I first saw you."
Gasp
So, he was captivated by my beauty at first sight? It's like a story on Wattpad. He was stabbing Nerraw's wife and fell in love with me at first sight.
"But you rejected the marriage contract and almost walked away from me."
"That was my shame. I wanted to be the one to propose to you."
Gasp
I couldn't handle his confession. Had something happened to him during the three years I was gone? Was his mind damaged?
"Are—" I kissed him. I couldn't bear to hear more. My heart raced. I'd survived death, but Conan's overwhelming confessions might kill me.

"Good morning, breakfast is ready,"
Zeus said, holding a pan and a ladle. I sat down and watched him flip the food. "Are you feeling better now?"
"I feel weak. For three years, all I did was lie down. My body isn't in great condition. Where's Conan?" I hadn't seen him since waking up. Had he realized what he said last night and walked away? I needed to remind him of everything he confessed, if only I had recorded it all.
"Maybe he's in the underground," Zeus replied casually.
"Is Conan often in the underground?"
"Since you were in the hospital, Conan hasn't spent much time at the mansion. When he's not in the underground, he's at the hospital, watching over you. Earlier, he seemed calm and collected, unlike the past few days when he seemed troubled. He almost wiped out the Elders, kidnapped five of them, and tortured them in his chamber until they died. For three years, he trained relentlessly to become stronger than anyone else, all to protect you."
Tears welled up.
"Are you crying because of what I said or because of the onions I'm cutting?" Zeus asked.
"Both."
So Conan suffered for three years because of me? He did everything I should have done. He ruled the territories, fought against the Vixen and the Black Government.
