Chapter 23

Cameron's pov

"I.. I just want to do good things for you, but you still want Jack, a jerk who has cheated you. You're a good woman, you dont deserve to be treated like that, you deserve better."i'm about to say that i am better, but i think i'll just ruin this moment.

"As a friend, I just dont want you to get hurt."I add, i feel my heart stings when i said 'as a friend'.

I could see her eyes were glassy. She immediately hugged me and of course I hugged her back.

I dont want to be just friends, I want more than that.

Ughh.. easy, cam.

I still have a chance to get Caitlin back.

We let go of our arms, then look at each other.

"Thanks, Cam."she said wiping her tears away.

"It's Ok, Cait."I said, smiling.

Then it goes to silent. She looks down at her clothes and pouted, sticking her bottom lip. Makes me want to.. "I need my clothes."she says, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Let's go to the mall, i'll pay."I said, smiling.

"Let's go, but you're not going to pay."She said as she leaned into the couch."I need to move from here because i dont want to be a nuisance for you."

"You're not a nuisance." I replied.

Instead I'm glad she stayed here with me. Relax, I'm not going to do things like taking advantage of her. I love her dearly and have the respect for this beautiful woman.

"Aww,, Cam. Really?"she asked, smiling.

"Yeah."i nodded." Now, ready to go shopping?"i squeal like a little girl, I just wanted to make her laugh.

"I'm ready. Let's Go."she said.

We rose from the couch, and then turn off the Tv. We walked out of my apartment room to the parking lot.

We hop into my range rover and i start the engine. Dont Let Me Down by Daya comes on and we sing like crazy. I missed this moment with her.

I used to pick her up from her house to our school and we usually listen to our favorite song and sang the lyrics so loud, like really crazy. And we will laugh really hard after that.

We got into the mall. After selecting a few clothes, I'm about to pay..

"No, save your money!! I'm paying for myself."She says, holding my hand back from handing the cashier my credit card.

"No, I'll pay for you." I reply

"I'll sneak out of your apartment at night if you do that. I'll leave." She threatens, making a serious face.

The old woman behind the desk aka the cashier let out a giggle and says"You guys are really sweet."shaking her head."Just let your husband pay for your clothes, honey."she says, looking at caitlin and smiling.

Ooo,, she thinks we're a couple.

"No!"She rashly says that."He's my friend."Caitlin giggles, shaking her head.

The cashier looks at me, making me look back at her.

"Oohh,, friendzoned."She says. it's like she understands my expression right after Caitlin said that.

Fuck yeah, she friendzoned me in front of an old woman and she fucking understood.

"No, ma'am. It's not like that."Caitlin let out a giggle again.

"Okay."She hesitantly nods, shoving everyting into the bag.

We go to starbucks before we head home. And she didnt even let me pay for just her cofee.

Now we're having our random and funny conversation. She's giggling after i told her a joke, her giggle is very sweet, god.. I cant turn my attention away from her.

There was a curly haired woman patted Caitlin's shoulder. Caitlin slightly jumped, making me chuckled, she's a little surprised by that. Caitlin look back to know who was that. Caitlin smiled, standing out of the chair and then hugged her, she hugged her back.

"Mahogany, long time no see."Caitlin smiles after releasing her arms off of her.

"Yea, I know."She squealed."Umm,, what are you doing here?"She smiles back.

Why does she ask? Isnt that obvious?

"Just drink a coffe with my old friend." Caitlin replied, pointing at me.

Friendzoned. Again. Fuck my life.

Mahogany turned her gaze at me and smiled at me, I smiled back.

"Mahogany, this is Cameron. Cameron, this is Mahogany."

"Hi, Cameron."She sticks her hand out for me to shake.I stand out of my chair to shake her hand.

"Hi, Nice to meet you."I politely smiled at her.

"Nice to meet you too."she replied smiling.

"Ok, Caitlin. I think, I have to go."Mahogany lift her grocery bags and laugh.

"Okay, see you later."

"See you."She blew a kiss to Caitlin with her free hand, causing Caitlin to laugh.

Caitlin's pov

I sat back in my chair, so does Cameron. We're talking about something else.

Honestly, Cameron looks very attracrive with a cut in his lower lip. I keep staring at his lips while he's talking and then back to his eyes after he laughed about the joke he was told me.

"What else would you do after this?"He asks.

"Umm.. I dont know."I say, shrugging my shoulder.

"I'm a little tired. How if we watch a movie in my apartment?"he suggests.

"Well, sure."I nodded."Let's go now."

Arriving home, we watch netflix. Eventually Cameron fell asleep, his head resting on my shoulder, but I'm not concerned about it. And soon i started to fell asleep.
