1. Tyler, the singer, has black oil on his neck and hands.

2. The line in the song Stressed Out, "My name is Blurryface, and I care what you think" introduces the character Blurryface.

3. Blurryface is not some joke to Tyler.

4. If you were to look at any song by twenty one pilots, you might notice that Tyler in his songs talks about a variety of messages such as: anxiety, doubt, losing faith, wanting to become young again, searching for purpose, love, mental illnesses, pain, hurt, the loss of hope, feeling numb, staying alive, fighting, encouraging others to fight, depression, and even wanting the end.

5. Blurryface, the man with the red eyes, is just a visual representation for Tyler and Josh's audience to understand who Blurryface is to Tyler.

6. Blurryface is a representation of all of Tyler's deepest insecurities, worries, fears, and his anxieties.  He represents this character with red eyes to show the "evil" of Blurryface. But most importantly, with black oil on his hands and neck.

7. Why his hands and neck? Because thats how and where he creates.

8. His neck for his vocal chords for singing, his hands for his piano/ukulele/instrument playing

9. Twenty One Pilots is not some band you can or should hate just because they are popular. If you say that, at least look at some of their other songs. Try Kitchen Sink, Addict With a Pen, Before You Start Your Day, Drown, Fall Away, Glowing Eyes, Forest. Look at the lyrics. These are just a few.

10. If you bash people for saying they like Stressed Out or Ride and you're in the clique, grow up. Just because its popular doesn't change its meaning. I know its annoying they're not our little secret anymore, but do you know how many more lived were saved because these songs introduced people to tøp? We all start somewhere, we all have our first tøp song that got us looking for more.

11. Stressed Out wasn't met to be a single. It just blew up because people related to it. Tyler once said before in a concert he wished he never wrote it because some people in the clique (debatable) told him in person that they hated it and no true fan would ever like this song (Stressed Out).

12. In summary, no- its not a tattoo. No, dont hate Stressed Out because it's so big. No, Tyler isn't egotistical. He's just some dude in a band expressing his problems through his music.

13. Also, in addition- this black oil is also there to show how these insecurities are suffocating him.
