"Hey Laci wake up.", Lip says as he gently shakes me. "I brought you some clothes and your makeup. We can still make it to the tour if you still want to go."

I nod and get out of the hospital bed that I slept in with Carl. I grab the clothes and makeup bag and go into the small bathroom. I pee and the put on a black crop top, jeans, and white converse. I take my hair out of the bun I slept in and comb through it with my fingers. I put on mascara and lip balm. I walk into the hospital room and see Carl awake talking to Lip.

"Hey.",he says to me in a groggy voice.

"How are you?", I ask.

"Better than yesterday.", he answers and smiles at me.

I smile back and sit down in the bed with him.

"Fiona's bringing breakfast.", Lip tells us.

"Good I'm starving.", Carl says happily.

"So you got your tour today?", Carl asks.

"Yay, I wish you were going though.", I say sadly.

"Hey guys.", Fiona says interrupting.

"Hey.", we all say.

She hands us McDonald's bags and we start to eat. She keeps asking Carl and I how we are and it's getting annoying but at least she cares.

"We better go." Lip says after we're done eating.

"Bye baby." Carl giving me wide eyes.

I love it when he calls me baby.

"Bye I love you.", I say kissing his head.

"Love you too.", he says smirking at me.

I can bear to leave him but I promised Fi I would go to this. We leave the hospital and walk a long time until we get to Lip's car. We get in, buckle, and we start to drive. We talk on and off and stop a few times. We finally arrive at a large parking lot with lots of buildings around it.

"Shit this place is huge.", I remark as we get out of the car.

"Yay. It says on the packet to go to the welcome center.", Lip says as we start walking towards the buildings.

We make it to the welcome center and find my teacher.

"Oh Lip what a pleasant surprise.", Mrs. Thomas exclaims.

"Hi Mrs. Thomas.", Lip says.

"Oh my goodness Laci, what happened to your eye?", she says noticing my bandages.

"I fell..down the stairs.", I lie.

"All right ladies and gentlemen.", the tour guide interrupts. "We're ready to start the tour."

The campus was amazing but I had something bigger on my mind. I worried about Carl all day. The doctor said we were lucky; things could've been a lot worse. A broken back was bad but good in our case. Carl was going to have to wear a brace for 8weeks. I felt terrible. All I could think is this is all my fault. We finally made it to the dorms which got my attention.
