Welcome to the Mikaela Shindo food bank, supplied by yours truly.

He had me up on the sink of all places, one hand firmly planted beside me, the other keeping me from falling and hitting my head, which is far more likely than you would think. His face was hidden in the crook of my neck, fangs buried deep into the exposed skin.

I'll ask once more.
Is it bad I actually enjoyed this?

Call me a masochist all you want, but it didn't hurt. It actually tickled, at most. Unlike the previous time, Mika was aware of what he was doing. And... I guess that resulted in it feeling good? I don't know. Vampire logic confuses me.
"It sounds like you guys are getting it on if anyone heard this out of context. You know that, right?" Asuramaru said.
Yes, I knew that. Don't blame me, blame Mika.
"When are you gonna tell him you love him."
Later.

Probably.

Ferid was the only one who had taken notice to the fact the sounds of Mika sucking blood was suspicious, wiggling his eyebrows at us as we left the bathroom. Mika's response was to take out his knees.

Nice.

"I was kidding." He pointed out as he pulled himself from the floor.
"Lola, stop laughing."
"I know you were." Mika said simply, heading back to his bunk. I, meanwhile, fixed my collar before doing the same. Lola was doing Colette's makeup again, something I've noticed every day. I wasn't sure why, but didn't press. They probably had a reason, and there was no doubt of Lola's skill. Who the hell taught her?
Who am I kidding it was probably Ferid for all I know.

Sitting down at the moment was Colette, head hung low. Mika sat in front of her with crossed legs, his white coat pooling around him. I watched him talk to her, worry shining through in his gaze. We were about to perform, and Mika had yet to worry of his performance. It lingered in his gaze, but he had shoved it deep down to make sure that Colette was alright. She cares about him, I knew. And he cares about her. They had a tight bond even I haven't grasped the concept of. They seemed like close friends, but at times resembled the relationship I had with my mom. It was really interesting to look into, seeing how they interacted.
It made me hope his mom didn't get terminally ill while he was away, since I had no way of finding out in this position. My mom said she didn't remember her old address, meaning hope was lost unless we found a hacker or an information dealer who could tell us her location. Which was as unlikely as Mika becoming a criminal. Unless the crime was killing the Ringleader, I mean. Lola tied up her ballet slippers to her thighs, grey dress puffed out, black coat reaching the floor. back going to her ankles. Ferid wore his usual, the two matching in color. I, of course, had a costume similar to Mika's, just paralleling in color. His cravat had changed to a pitch black, mine an ivory. Colette nodded after a long while, standing up. She had a large bow in the back of her pulled back bangs, wearing a fifties style dress. Her clothing switched from the nineteenth to twentieth century. It was very interesting- her constantly changing apparel. Jewelry adorned her like a beautiful painting to an already mesmerizing room. I'm not saying I was attracted to her, but Colette was in fact beautiful. There was no denying it. She kicked the chair, watching it slide back and hit against the wall harshly.
"Let's do this, you miserable misfits." She announced, cracking her neck, blinking rather rapidly as she stared at the vanity, tone changing from the insulting one she had to a cheery one.
"Do your best!"

I watched Ferid walk out onto the stage, pulling his strings back. The coat slid off of Lola, soaring past my head backstage. The crowed made sounds of awestruck, some whooping. They stopped once Ferid gave them a look. I watched Mika give Colette a leg up onto the tightrope, hidden behind the black cloth. He held her down by her feet, even as the cloth was torn away, her figure still hidden. I was surprised no one noticed the obvious strain being applied on it, the colorful lights casting a bent shadow showcasing the truth upon the floor. Mika stared at me for a long while, a message I couldn't quite understand lying beneath. Behind me I could hear Ferid telling Lola how to cheat at Poker and Blackjack, although I was mainly focused on our cue, the small cardboard box twirling in my hand. We each had a word or phrase to let the next act to know they were supposed to get ready to switch, although Ferid and Lola was an orchestral note, today having been F. For a while I had always wondered how Colette was able to recognize it, but Lola mentioned casually that Colette uses her personality for most performances. Colette's word was Pecan tonight. She mentioned wanting Pecan pie, Mika rolling his shoulders. "Good luck!" Lola cheered to us. Giving her a thumbs up, every light faded to black, crowd silencing in fear.

"Who better to trust pyrotechnics with than the nineteen year old with a burning hatred for the Ringleader?" Asuramaru said, chuckling as I stood on the edge of a man-made pond covering the area beneath the tightrope, striking a match. I was standing on the back, mainly to make sure the fallen backdrop didn't catch fire. The crowd gasped once it erupted in flames. I was supposed to look at the crowd, but was currently watching Mika confidently stride across the rope, taking a step back jokingly ever so often, as well as other tricks. The confidence he held was false. He had openly expressed his hatred and fear to me before the performance. His eyes, as intimidating as they seemed, were narrowed in worry, brows pinched together. I had thought he would be able to pull this off considering what I had previous seen him do and climb.

I had never anticipated him to fall.

It happened faster than you would think, his step faltering as the rope shuddered, his eyes going wide as he fought to keep balance. Then his left foot stepped in front of him, losing his hold on it completely. In the corner of my eye I saw Ferid holding Colette and Lola at bay with his strings, his eyes meeting briefly with mine. It didn't matter that he was keeping them away, at the time. The crowd was in a panic that never reached my ears, my body acting upon its own. I wish I could explain to you the brief moment of pain pulsing at the top of my head. Let's say it hurt. A lot. My vision was blurred for a moment, body feeling light as a feather. Then I felt my feet on the floor, weight in my arms as I fell to one knee, the weight still upon my arms and thigh.
"Everyone, please stay in your seats." Colette's voice rang out, perplexed and worried at the same time. She must have grabbed her microphone. I was rather confused with my absence of memory, glancing down to see Mika in my arms, his breathing rigid. He touched my cheer, eyes narrowing with an emotion I had seen from him only once before. When I had first woken up on that metal table to an experiment tested upon my body, demon chained to my mind. Anger. Colette passed in front of us, microphone back around her ear. "Well, that sure was something!" She said with a small laugh.
"Folks, remain seated, Diable and Lusus Naturae are very dangerous.." The ringleader's voice rang out.
"Dangerous my ass. We're the ones in danger here." Mika muttered, his microphone discarded elsewhere. "Are you alright, Yuu?" He asked, constantly glancing above me. What's with him and constantly ignoring his own injuries?
"Of course I am. You almost fell to certain death, why the hell are you worried about me?" I asked, furrowing my brows.

"Because you kinda... Have horns sticking out of your head? And fangs. With some creepy ass eyes." He added, gesturing to his own head.

Wait, what?
