After the night Louis and I had, it was safe to say I trusted him. It was an on-the-spot decision, and once it was made, there was no going back. The way Louis didn't say anything or show anything while looking at my photos made me think he hated them. Then when he stopped on the last one, the one of us kissing, I had to stop myself from from climbing into his mind to see what he was thinking. But when he kissed me, I had my answer.
A week since that moment and our friendship had stayed the same. We acted the almost the same around each other, but the intimacy between us exploded any time we were nearly touched.
Today was yet another special day. I'd told Darcy and Louis about it, and Louis agreed to come with me. My heart pounded in my chest, which was ironic with what was happening.
I slipped on the jeans jacket I stole from Louis all that time ago. Said goodbye to Darcy, and jumped into the elevator with a giddy feeling in my stomach. As scared as I was, excitement was bursting out of me.
As routine nowadays, I said hi to Sage, which was received with a small smile back from him. I still hasn't found out what was wrong, but I could feel him slowly warming up to me.
Louis smiled at me from the black leather couch on which he sat, waiting for me. "Ready?" I nodded and we walked out the building. "That guy usually like that, or is it just me?"
    "What" I asked confused.
Louis pointed back toward the building. "The receptionist, he kept glaring at me every time I looked at him." So things hadn't changed after all. What was Sage's problem with Louis?
I shrugged, dodging people left and right south out looking at him. If there was an answer to why Sage hates Louis, I didn't have it.
After walking for a few blocks, we reached our destination. I looked up at the big neon block letters that read, "The Parlor Tattoo" and in smaller letters underneath, "Tattoo & Piercing Shop".
"You sure you want to do this?" Louis confirmed one more time. I turned around to face him. He looked down at me with steady eyes that sped my heartbeat up. His stubble started to grow long again, but that's the way I liked it. I resisted the urge to stand on my tiptoes and kiss him, and just nodded. Louis nodded back and we headed inside.
"Hi, welcome to the Parlor Tattoo, how can I help you?" The slightly chubby guy behind the counter to our left greeted us. He had black reading glasses and a name tag that read 'Brent'. He had white gauges in both ears and tattoos running up and down both arms.
"Hi, I'm the girl who called earlier about the tattoo on my side," I explained, motioning to my hip area. Brent nodded and asked us to follow him to the back. On the way, he handed me a form and a pen attached to a clipboard, telling me to fill it out before the artist got started. Not bothering to read the fine print too closely, I put my messy signature at the bottom and handed the clipboard back to Brent.
"That's Tatiana, she'll be working on you today," Brent pointed to the girl sitting on a stool on the other side of the room before walking out. Tatiana had only half a sleeve on her right arm. She had the same glasses as Brent, but instead of gauges, simple, small hoops were attached to her ears. The right side of her head was shaved, leaving a mop of bleached blonde hair to hang over her left shoulder. The tattoo sleeve ran up her neck and ended somewhere on her back.
Tatiana smiled at us as we stood there, unsure of what to do. "First time?" She asked, putting down the tool she was cleaning thoroughly.
I nodded, taking a step into the room. the walls were lined with framed tattoo sketches with the exception of the mirror and a spot where a shelf held the extra cleaning supplies the artist used for her customers. One small ceiling light lit the room right above the black leather chair that looked oh-so-inviting.
"Don't be shy," Tatiana urged me when she noticed I wasn't moving from the single step I took. "I don't bite." My feet refused to move anyway further away from the doorway. Louis' hand on my shoulder made me jump, but my nerves calmed when our eyes locked.
"You want me to call Darcy ?" Louis asked soothingly. He squeezed my shoulder and returned my nod when I gave him one. Having Darcy here would make it seem less scary.
