Break-ups are not rare. They happen all the time. Some break-ups happen due to a souring of relationships, some happen as a result of someone cheating on the other.

But many break-ups happen without any major, underlying cause. Like, when someone loves you a lot, and you are not quite sure of your own feelings. You decide that not making a decision is the convenient thing to do. Soon, the relationship ends.

Now, it may appear like you had the upper hand. After all, you enjoyed someone's love without having to reciprocate in exact measure, and when it ended, it was the other person who lost you. You never really lost him, because you were still undecided.

Of course, you are wrong.

The other person did not lose. He had love to give. He gave it to you. Now free, he will give it to someone else. He was not receiving enough love anyway, so he lost very little. Chances are, that the next person he chooses to love, may reciprocate in equal measure.

But you lost. You lost his love. You lost someone who loved you strongly, and unless you find someone else who loves you as much as he did, you will keep losing every day for the rest of your life.
