"What are you guys doing here?" I asked. "same as you I'm guessing." she said looking at our practically empty backpacks. "we should stick together, survival in numbers you know." said Alex.
"sure I think we should do it" said Holley.
"ya we could carry more supply's too!" I said.
"Then it's settled!" said Ashley "were sticking together!"
We found a lot of stuff in the gas station like food, water, battery's, flashlights, lighters, a surprisingly large glass case filled with machetes and Swiss army knifes, crowbars. they even had those crapy airplane blanket kits with blow up pillows. They weren't much but they'll do. at least if were carful we won't die of hypothermia.
The others had set up a small home base for now. the zombies were getting closer. We could feel it. it wasn't going to be this easy.
We handed out the weapons we found. I got the crowbar and a knife. everyone got a knife actually. Ashley got a machete, we gave Spencer the axe we found a while ago. Hayden and Quinn already had long wrenches, holley got the pitch fork, ruby and Alex got the other machetes, and Lucy and Emily got bricks we found falling off the side if the building.
We distributed the food, lighters and flashlights with extra batteries. Everyone got two.
We ate and sent Lucy and Emily to watch the first shift while some of us slept. me and holley sat there talking forever. it was nice to get to know her.
Spencer, Alex, and Haydn came over and we all talked. none of us had shifts because after Emily and Lucy went half the night Ashley and Quinn watched the rest.
It was nice to have so many people.
