The Day We All Died

Dead on the horizon (part 2)

It opened with a creek and there it was a medal room stockpiled with cans, water, blankets, and pillows. it was amazing! maybe we could stay here instead, bring down all the cans from the kitchen, it's a little small for all of us and if the prison is over run how will we get out?

I run back up with all the amo, their waiting for me. "WERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" yelled Alex from the watch tower, "I FOUND SOMETHING!" I yelled back. I handed the amo to Ashely and Ruby, they started to hand it to the others. I ran out across the yard towards the tower when suddenly I heard a moan.

I turned and there it was, covered in guts, skin torn and rotting, it reeked of death. I looked at its face, it was a she! a young girl with a bite from one of those thing on her neck. she moaned, but all it could think about was what she was. a young girl killed by one of those thing.

I pulled out my crow bar. if she got in there must be a hole in the wall. I decided we would look for it another time, but right now I have to make it to the watch tower.

With my crowbar I smashed her skull in. blood and brains were everywhere. I continued to run but as I looked back I saw another. I just kept running. they can't climb, can they? Besides even if they can I can shoot them off. I climbed the latter and Alex peeked over the edge , horror in his eyes. I looked back and the zombie was scratching at the ladder. He can't get up...we were safe up here.

I finished climbing the ladder and threw the ammunition of my back and into the floor. "what did you find?" asked Lilly as she shot one in the head and turned around. "A bunker, like a bomb shelter. we could sleep in there!" I replied! Relief, that's what they felt. the chance to sleep without worry!

I pulled out my gun and walked over to the ladder,a few more zombies had come to the bottom. I pulled the trigger. brains splattered, we would have to clean that up. I shot them all and they dropped.

They came but we fought them off. by the end of the day the highway was covered in blood and guts. We jumped over the bodies as best we could.

We ran up the stairs and ran into Hayden, "I thought you guys had been eaten!" he said as he looked behind us

"Some of them got in!". we all ran outside guns at the ready, I could see Holley with her sniper rifle out trying to hit them.

We ran around to where they were coming from, killing them as we go. I ran up to one and shot it in the head.

As we came to the back of the building we saw that one of the gates was open the lock was never closed. I ran up to lock it while Alex, Hayden, and Lilly shot them as they came at me.

Suddenly out of nowhere a zombie pinned me. I fought, but It fought harder. I grabbed its neck and tried to choke it. it's stamina never gave out, it's like he can't feel it! my hands start to slip on his gut covered skin, "HELP!" I screamed, which caught there attention.

But Holley was already on it, she shot it in the head and It dropped. The thing lay there on top of me and I tyres to pry it off, Alex went and closed the gate while Hayden helped me get it off.

We finished sweeping the area and went back inside. I ran to the bathroom and showered in my clothes trying to get the stink of zombie if. I got most of it and by the end I just gave up.

We took every thing down to the bunker and slept down there.
