Bring him home

Within a heart beat Ganon had grabbed Dark and plunged Dark's own sword through his chest, Dark's eyes widening and my terror-filled screams filling the silent void.
-----------------------------------------------------------

"How- how could you?" Dark turned to his former master in disbelief.

"You were weak to be attached to that girl, so I decided to eliminate you." Ganon kicked Dark's stomach, sensing him crashing into me.

As soon as our bodies collided and we landed on the ground in a thud, Link had yelled in rage and charged at Gannon, both armied now colliding and thus beginning the battle.

As I regained my focus, I held Dark close to me, his breathing was hitched and tears were running down his grey cheeks. "I-I'm sorry, (Y-y/n). I should've- come alone."

"Shh, don't talk so much. You'll be okay. It'll be okay. You aren't going to die on me, I promise. I didn't spend most of my life playing your level of the game just to have you die on me now."

Dark chuckles and coughs up blood in one of his fits. I carefully wipe it away with my sleeve.

"Love, will you pull out my sword? It's getting a little painful." Dark winces as he shifts in my lap.

"Oh, right! Sorry! Okay then, here we go." Without hesitation, I pull the sword out and pull Dark's shirt off to use to put pressure on the wound. Dark never made a sound besides the ragged breathing.

"You'll be okay. I won't let you die." I held pressure on his wound with one hand and held his head in the other, gently stroking his hair to keep him calm.

"I'm sorry... (y/n). I couldn't protect you from this."

"Don't say that! You're going to be okay."

By this time, the fighting had stopped and all eyes were on us. Ganon, Zelda, and Link were watching from behind me. Zelda was on the verge of tears, Link was conforting her, and Ganon was watching us with pity.

"I'll be back...for you, (y/n)," Dark lifts a hand to my cheek and gently rubs it with his thumb, "I-I.. promise..."

Dark's shine in his eyes fades away, his chest now motionless, and his skin icy cold. Millions of emotions rush through me at once; pain, regret, fear, anxiety. I shut his eyes, kissing the lids and holding him close to me as he passes on, not wanting to believe that he is gone.

"(Y/n)-"

"This is your fault." I turned to look at Link, his face now revealing his fear. "He died, because you couldn't leave us alone. And you," I glared at Ganon, my eyes buring through his very soul, "He didn't deserve this. He's always treated like the bad guy becausw thats how you made him out to be! He's actually kind, trusting, and gentle. He lost everything when you showed up in his life, so why don't you just go the hell away and rot somewhere!"

Ganon seemed taken aback at my words, his eyes glazing white as he freezes in his place. I didn't pay attention to anything that happened afterwards with him or the others. My main focus was on Dark.

Dark's servants gathered around me, knowing exactly what I was thinking. "Shall we prepare the garden for the master's arrival, Miss (y/n)? Right next to the statue, perhaps, or shall we lay him in his room?"

I rose, Dark in my arms, and started walking back to the castle. "I want him in his bed, like nothing happened, and I want him to stay that way."

"Yes, Milady."

-----------------------------------------------------------

Dark's room was prepared and an enchantment was placed on his body so time wouldn't hurt his body. I took the liberty to put flowers in his hands as he laid there. The servants had put his finest attire on him and left me alone with him.

I sat at his bedside, holding his icy hands and hoping this was all a dream or he was just joking around and would wake any moment. It just doesn't seem real, Dark being gone.

Taking out the jewelry I got at the market, I put them on his nightstand. I don't really see a purpose in wearing the necklaces and rings i bought for myself. They would only bring back memories of Dark. Plus, I think he would like them better, since I got them mainly to give to him.

I put the ring on one of his fingers and fastened the necklace around his neck. I never realized how angelic he looked until I got a good look at him.

I can't let him go.

There has to be a way to bring him back.
