I fell over, my head hitting the ground. Blackstar and Sid looked down at me as I clutched my stomach.
I cried out in pain, What is happening to me?! Maka where have you left me!?
"Oh" A voice said in wonder, everyone looked around.
"Who's there?" Sid yelled
"It seems that Soul is rejecting the tests. How troublesome..." a wind picked up and we all heard foot steps come from our left. I was still on the ground, rolling around in pain. The agony was mind splitting as I screamed out.
So uncool...
"Stein" Blackstar hissed, "Tsubaki, enchanted sword mode" Tsubaki leaped into his hands as a long, black sharp blade.
My vision started to blacken because of the pain, but then the pain completely vanished. I sat up, my mind not in the same place it was a few seconds ago.
Stein smiled widely and cackled manically
"Looks like he's back to being my little minion"
Kid's POV:
I stood up and helped Maka to her feet, she leaned on me heavily. "I think that's enough fighting for a long while" I said to her, love is like a war I suppose. You have to fight for what you believe and love most.
Lord Death and Spirit had gone to the death room as soon as Maka had woke up, they said they needed to research some stuff so they went out the back door and left without a trace.
After a while of Maka and I just sitting on the floor hugging in silence, simply enjoying each other's company we heard loud yelling from outside. Maka and I looked up in wonder and we both stood up stiffly.
"Come on, lets go" Maka said, she took my hand and we walked out of the house. What we saw was not ok.
Before us was Blackstar and Sid, both with weapons in their hands. Liz and Patty were no where to be seen.
In front of them were Stein and Soul. Soul's body twitched every so often, like it had strings attached to his limbs to make him stand.
Like a puppet
Maka's POV: (ok, I hate changing POV's in the middle but I accidentally changed pov's while writing)
Kid stood in front of me a little as he took in the situation as well. My side still hurt like hell, not healed at all but patched up.
"Well well well, looks like the whole crew is here...almost" Stein said, pushing up his glasses which reflected the light of the setting sun.
You can't be serious...we must fight more?
"Where is Liz and Patty" I said to Kid, he looked back at me grimly
"I sent them home, I was preoccupied with you so I sent them home to make dinner or clean the house" he said quietly, he pulled me closer to him as the scene unfolded in front of us. "I think Blair tagged along with them"
"I do think that is enough chatting for now" Stein said, tightening the screw lodged in his brain. "Let's go Soul" before anyone could move they both shot forward, Stein's soul wavelength hit Sid, taking him down very quickly. Soul kicked Blackstar in the face, causing him to fly back. They both shot back to their original positions, back to back.
The whole time, Soul was looking at the ground. His face shrouded in shadow. His body was too limp for him to be controlling his own actions.
"Soul...lets finish this shall we?" Stein hissed, Soul nodded mechanically and turned into a weapon. Stein can change his wavelength to match Soul's...this is going to be difficult.
"I do hope none of you come near me, or risk your weapon's sanity" Stein said
"Why's that?!" Kid snarled at Stein
"Well you see...I have found this new wavelength...it seems that when I shoot it at weapons I can take over their minds. Of course, I needed a test subject and our little friend Soul was the perfect specimen" Stein put his hand to his eye, and laughed.
I spoke up, thinking quickly "Have you only tested on death scythes?" I asked, Kid looked over at me in understanding
Stein didn't miss a beat, "Yes I have, but this wavelength should affect all weapons" he said thoughtfully
"YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS STAR!" Blackstar ran at Stein recklessly, he swung Tsubaki at Stein and he blocked easily.Obviously he recovered from being flung across the lawn. I cringed, Does this mean he is going to take over Tsubaki now?!
Nothing happened, Stein's face contorted in anger and he swung madly at Blackstar. He jumped back but Stein took Blackstar's head and shot the full force of his wavelength at him.
Blood shot out of Blackstar's nose as he screamed in pure agony, I heard Tsubaki yell in pain too. They both fell to the ground, neither of them moving.
Kid took in a sharp breath of air. Him and I are the only ones left
"Blackstar!" I yelled, stepping forward. Kid caught my hand before I could move anymore. Stein still stood over Blackstar, Tsubaki was still in her weapon form laying beside Blackstar seemingly unconscious.
Or dead.
"Don't think like that" I scolded myself, Kid's grip on my hand tightened. I then heard a laugh.
It didn't belong to Stein. I knew that laugh.
Soul's face reflected in the blade of his scythe, he was laughing to a point of tears. It was a crazy and demonic laugh, his tongue lolling out of his mouth. I could even see spit dripping away from his razor sharp teeth
"Is the mighty Blackstar dead" he hissed through his laughing, I clenched my fists. Before I knew it, my arms had turned into two large, sharp black blades. They had red tinting on the edges making them look stained with blood. Kid took his hand away in shock, you could even see some of my bones on top of the vicious blades.
"I'm sorry Soul. But I can not let you do this anymore" I ran forward before Kid could stop me and raised my arms, trying to swing at Stein. He simply smiled and leaped back, landing lightly on his feet
"Maka" Kid said calmly, he walked up beside me. His dark presence almost scaring me, "Transform" he said. I widened my eyes but nodded.
I concentrated and I felt my body change, Kid's hands wrapped around what I felt like my legs. I felt like I had two bodies, but they were both in sync. I then realized I wasn't one full weapon, I was two.
We go together Kid. Or we don't go down at all.
"Lets do this" I hissed dangerously, I saw Stein's eyes flash in surprise at Kid and I.
"Yes, lets get this done" he growled
