Avertizare 2

The next morning is a Saturday, so there's no inevitable feeling of exhaustion when Arrow peels her eyes open at around ten o'clock. She feels well rested, peaceful even, and lays in bed for a good fifteen minutes just letting the sunlight from the window drink her in and flush the drag of sleep from her bones. It's warm in the apartment, the air thick with the smell of pancakes, and she smiles. Calum's made breakfast.

For a small, blissful moment she forgets the events of the night before. Then she sits up, sees the crumbled piece of paper on Calum's nightstand, and it all comes back to her.

"Oh, you're up." His familiar voice calls from the couch. He's drinking a large cup of coffee, dressed in his usual all black and staring out the window. "Breakfast is on the table. Thought I'd return the favor and let you sleep."

Groggily, she rubs her eyes and drags herself to her feet. She's in nothing but Calum's t-shirt from the night before. "Well good morning to you too."

He grins, a small twitch at the corner of his mouth. "You look cute."

"Yeah, yeah." She walks over to the table and plops down into a chair, her stomach rumbling at the sight of the steaming pancakes in front of her. There's also a full cup of coffee, fixed just how she likes it, sitting next to the plate. She takes a massive gulp of that first. "What's with the outfit?"

Calum looks away from the window, setting his now empty mug on the side table. "I thought I told you, Luke Ash and I are meeting with Vanity Records today."

She raises her eyebrows. "Um, no you didn't. Holy shit Cal! Are they gonna sign you?"

"I don't know, hopefully." He sighs, standing up. He seems nervous, anxious, but there's also an underlying excitement only Arrow can make out. He takes a seat in the chair across from her. "We've been on and off with them for months. Maybe they'll finally give us a definite answer."

"Well," She says, her mouth half full of food. "They'd be stupid not to sign you. You guys are amazing."

"Yeah, yeah." He repeats her earlier words, a faint smile on his lips now as he lights a cigarette. "What are you gonna do today?"

"Actually, I was hoping to see if the usual crew wants to go to Joey's for lunch. It's been a while since we've all hung out. Do you think you guys will be out in time?"

He shrugs, blowing out a cloud of spoke into the space between them. "We're supposed to know around one. So it would be a late lunch, but I'm sure none of the guys care. Sounds good to me."

Arrow nods. "I'll call Lea and Mike." She glances at the window, the curtains drawn back to let the sunlight in. She can just see the woods line in the distance. "What were you doing by the window? You usually just sit on your phone."

He picks at the edge of the table, raising his eyes to look at her with a darkly curious expression. He shrugs. "Dunno. Thought that if I stared long enough I'd see something, but it just looks the same."

In her brain Arrow knows that something means him, but it's too early for any twisted thoughts to be vocalized out loud, so she just nods again and finishes her breakfast.

The morning passes by as it usually does, Calum styling his hair before grabbing his guitar and kissing Arrow goodbye as he heads out the door. The girl gets dressed in her normal skinny jeans and sweater and brushes out her hair, texting Lea and asking her to come over. She texts Michael as well, telling him she'll call him when Cal and the others get back so they can head out for lunch. He responds with a simple 'Ok' and Lea shows up without warning, as per usual.
