"No, we - we agreed to give each other the summer. No texts, no calls..." Scott trails off making me chuckle to myself.
"So then how do you know she won't be back at school then?" Stiles ask trying to keep his eyes on the road.
"Wait what yes she is?" I butt in. I know for a fact she will because I already talked to her... like yesterday.
"After everything that happened, I'm not sure that she's coming back at all." Scott argues.
"I think she is. I'd say pretty definite. You know. Like, one hundred percent." Scott and I follow Stiles eyes to the little car next to us.
In that car sat Lydia and Allison, both looking as panicked as Scott. "OH my God oh-" Scott tries to slide down in his seat and hide his face. Like Allison doesn't known Stiles Jeep and as if Scott isn't the only other person who ever rides in here other than me.
"Can we just drive? Please? Stiles-" Scott begs.
"Scott, it's a red light-" Stiles points out.
"I think we should talk to them!" I pipe in leaning forward to roll Scotts window down.
"No!" Scott yells blocking me from the window.
"I'm gonna say something. Say hi-" Stiles agrees leaning over Scott as well.
"No no Stiles no come on. Oh my god. Dude." Scott complains realizing that either Stiles and I was going to be yelling out the window.
Just as Stiles gets the window down Lydia randomly floors it through the red light flying away. "You know. They probably didn't see us." Stiles shrugs trying to make Scott feel better.
The light then turns green and Stiles begins driving down the road. "What are you doing?" Scott panics.
"Driving?" Stiles says confused.
"We're right behind them!" Scott freaks out.
"Do you see any other turns dip-shit?" I sass from the back seat.
"I don't want it to look like we're following them." Scott says flailing around.
"Well what do you want me to do?" Stiles ask throwing his hands up.
"I dunno! Anything!" Scott yells. So of course Stiles being Stiles he slams on the breaks making us stop in the middle of the road.
"Stiles what the hell?" I ask leaning forward.
"Well what else am I suppose to do!" Stiles ask confused.
"I don't know but not sto-" my sentence was cut off by and ear piercing scream from up the road.
"What the-" Stiles was of course cut off by my hand covering his mouth as I climb over him and out of the jeep.
"Lydia! Allison!" I yell running down the road. I could here Scott and Stiles jogging behind me.
Getting to the driver side door I look at the car and see a deer's head through the windshield. "It came out of nowhere!" Lydia shook.
"It's ok! Are you hurt?" I ask checking over Lydia.
"It ran right into us." Lydia said repeating herself.
"Are you okay?" Scott ask, probably to Allison.
"I'm okay." Allison nods.
"Well I'm not okay! I am totally freaking out! How the hell did that thing just run into us? I saw it's eyes right before it hit us. It was like it was... it was like it was crazy." Lydia shrieks.
Scott walked over to the deer and took a look at it. "No it was scared." He then moves and touches the body of the deer. "Actually. Terrified."
*****
After the accident I text Derek and told him what happened and that I was staying with Lydia, which wasn't exactly true. I was really going over Stiles to spend the night."Stiles what are you doing?" I ask as we walk in his room and he immediately heads to his laptop.
"Researching! Why would a deer run straight through their window?" Stiles ponders.
"Stiles babe it was just a freak accident I'm sure." I say walking over behind him placing my chin on his should so I can see the screen.
"I don't think so Dev. These things are just... They just don't happen." He sighs.
"Please don't stress yourself out over this." I plead kissing his cheek.
"To late." He mumbles making me laugh a little.
"Well how late are you going to be up?" I ask wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Hmmm I'm not sure." He mutters as his fingers move across the key board.
"Well I'm exhausted I'm going to bed. So don't keep me waiting to long." I whisper leaning forward so he knew I wanted a kiss. Catching on he turns his head so that he can kiss me softly.
"Mh night, I love you." He says before turning back to the computer.
"I love you too." I say heading over to his bed and climbing in.
*******
"Stil- how long have you been up?" I peel my eyes open to see Sheriff Stilinski at the door and Stiles still at the computer. Did he ever come to bed last night?"You know how many vehicle accidents in the last year involved deer. Two hundred forty-seven thousand." Stiles rushes.
"Ah god. Please go to school." Sheriff groans.
"But that's crossing the road. This one last night came right down the middle." Stiles says puzzled.
"I'm not gonna beg you." The sheriff states making me giggle a bit.
"Kay, good. I'm impervious to your influence anyway." Stiles mutters.
"Would you consider a bribe?" Sheriff tries.
"Couldn't meet my price." Stiles scoffs.
"Yea." Sheriff shrugs in agreement. The an idea must've appeared in his head because he grabs the back of Stiles chair and starts tugging him away.
"Dad. What're you doin? Dad. What're you doin?" Stiles questions as he tries to pull himself back to the desk. "What're you - ahhhck!" With that he falls flat on his face.
"Can I trust you to get him to school Devin?" The sheriff ask me.
"To be honest sheriff, if I had the choice I'd let him stay at that computer all day if I can lay in bed all day." I laugh but in reality I was all serious.
"Devin." The sheriff warns, he knows I'm the only one who can get him to school.
"Alright, alright. I'll get him to hell- I mean school." I smile sweetly.
"Uh-hm yea if I find out that you two aren't in school I will find you both and drag you back there" He warns.
