As the world knows, a well known Australian band, 5 Seconds of Summer has signed Hey Violet into their record label, Hi or Hey Records in early 2015. Hey Violet has been following in their footsteps, releasing their own pop rock sounding EP in the same year. They have gained a steady fan base which were also mostly 5SOS fans whom they would meet outside every venue they would perform in. They'd been pretty satisfied with the fame they were getting so far but, their management team wasn't.
Hey Violet and 5SOS were called into a meeting with their manager to discuss ways on how to get Hey Violet more fame. The Hey Violet member sat on one side of the long table whilst the 5SOS boys stayed on another. Nia Lovelis was nervously looking down on her lap, fiddling with her fingers while their manager spoke to her bandmates and friends from the opposite band. She zoned out of her thoughts, daydreaming about what she and the band could do once they made it big just as 5SOS had. She could already picture it, stadiums full of fans just for them, interviews, radio apperances, award shows. She knew they could do it.
"Nia?" Their manager, William (A/N: some of these characters are made up.) called. "Did you get that?" He asked.
"Um," Nia muttered nervously, tapping her foot out of habit. "No, what were you all talking about?" She asked.
"We were planning to do a PR stunt to get the media familiar with your name." William explained.
"Just mine?" She asked.
"Keep dreaming, Nia." Miranda teased.
"And, if you don't mind me asking, what's a PR stunt?" Nia asked.
"For example, you and Calum go out alone together in public to get the paparazzi to notice. If they notice, a lot of runors and stories will spread which will make your names be familiarized by the media." Michael explained.
"Exactly. Thank you, Michael." William praised. "So, who's gonna be the pair to go out together,hm?" He asked.
No one volunteered. Silence fell upon the band members.
"No one?" William said. "Well, since Michael already said it, Nia and Calum, I want you too to go out together for the next few weeks or so." He said.
"Um,okay. Nia, is that cool with you?" Calum asked.
Before Nia could give her opinion, William cut her off.
"Actually, you don't have much of a choice. No one else wants to do it." He said.
"Yeah,it's okay." Nia shrugged, sitting up straight to fix her posture.
"Well, you two could talk about what you could do together and make sure that people see you. Go somewhere public, but not too public and if any fans see, be polite and get out of there quick." William said.Being rude to their fans in any way was the last thing the both of them wanted to do. Not only would fans dish out comments about what happened, they'd also get hurt and they all don't want to hurt the people who got them to where they are today.
"But, won't that make us getting fame complicated since Nia was being 'rude' to fans?" Casey asked, holding up air quotes when he said "rude".
"Just do as told and all will go smoothly." William said.It wasn't the best sounding tactic to Nia,it was only gonna caust controversies and scandals which would ruin her band's reputation. Plus, she and Calum weren't even that close but, there was no use fighting their manipulative manager.Everyone else nodded and so did she.
"Good." William said. Now,you all could go back to whatever you were doing before I called you here." Willaim said.
They all stood up,hugging one another and saying goodbye. When Nia got to Calum, she started shaking nervously. It wasnte that Nia had feelings for the bassist, it was more of fear of what could happen once they start going out.
"You okay?" Calum asked in concern.
"Um,yeah. I'm fine." She said,offering a fake smile.
"I'll just pick you up at 6PM tomorrow night and we could eat dinner." He said.
"Okay, cool." She said. Calum leaned down to hug her goodbye. "I'll see you then." She said.
