The young girl squatted down and covered her head with her hands and started to sob loudly. She was in distress and was panicking. The little girl started whisper loudly, trying to block all the noise and hope that the horrifying people would leave her alone But alas, the family stood there debating on what to do with the child.

"We shouldn't keep her.."

"But she's beaten up!"

"Yes, but by who?"

"I bet it's loan sharks.."

"There is no such thing as a loan shark that will do such a thing!"

They constantly argued on what to do. Soon after, they started to argue about things that weren't even related to the little girl.

Cory was staring at the girl he saved in fear and both curiosity. He wanted to say something but no words were spoken from him. Cory usely knows what to do but he was completely confused and uncertain then ever.

Cory's mother, the only family member who wasn't arguing noticed this indemnity even though Cory had no face. Seeing Cory in distress made her worry like any other mother would. She would do what a mother would do. She would comfort.

The mother started to walk over to the terrified child. She started to wrap arms around Frisk in a warm hug.

"What horrible bullies, torturing a poor beautiful youth." Mother said in a calming tone. Frisk looked up, tears were still fresh in her eyes

"Fri- Fri- Frisk Loveland mam....." she whispered softly as she looked at the woman with the strange face. The mother simply smiled.

"Now now... This is Cory.'" She motioned over Cory where she was. "Without him, you would be in a horrible situation.. He saved your life Frisk. I'm trusting him to bring you to your home." She kneeled down where frisk was. The mother parted the hair from Frisk's eyes.

"You have the eyes of your mother, you know."

Frisk stared in shock.

"You know my mother?"

"Heh...." Cory's mom chuckled. "I shouldn't be the one to tell you."

Frisk nodded, too afraid to respond. Cory and Frisk slowly walked away, dew to the fact that Frisk was still injured.

Rain started to pour as soon as they walked out. Cory soon took Frisk's hand and ran over to a phone booth to stay dry. Frisk, being the social butterfly, broke the ice.
"Your mother is a very kind person."

"I get that alot..." Cory responded. "For those who find us anyway."

"Find you?" Frisk said in confusion.

"It's hard to find us you know. Your very far from home."

Frisk wanted to ask why they were hard to find, but she decided to change the topic beacase she thought this was too personal.

"Do you know my mother?"

Cory shook his head. "No. I know mom has a alot secrets hidden from us."

"What? Doesn't family have to stick together?"

Cory sighed. "You'd be surprised."

Silence....

Frisk spoke up. "Sorry about you dad."

Cory laughed loudly. "Him? Nah he's hard in the head. He does this all the time."

Frisk had to cover her moth to snicker.

"You packed quite a punch on the old man, didn't you?
Frisk punched him playfully.

They laughed the rain, away. Soon Frisk found her house. She turned around to thank Cory but he vanished.

Mother rain, mother rain.
A precious light in the day.

Guiding those, to true love.

Making thoughts,

From far above.

Mother's thoughts,

Are truly strong.
