As Kylie stood outside the classroom, she wrapped her arms around her and hesitated. She took a deep breath before opening the door. As she turned to close it, she heard him get up from his seat. She turned around slowly and avoided his eyes. "Ivory -- Ms. Carson you're awake. I hope you feel much better." He says, correcting himself. Kylie looked up at him and nodded softly.

"Yeah." She muttered. Remus nodded before there was silence between the two. "Kevin told me you helped me." She starts. Remus looked up at her. "I did." He replied. Kylie fiddled with her sweater. "What happened?" She whispered.

"You passed out, yes, but once we got you to the Infirmary, you were on the brink of death. You still had water in your lungs. No one knew what to do, except for me. I remembered a spell, that I used when you were younger." He starts. "Prosecco." She muttered, remembering the time he used that. He nodded.

"Thankfully you were saved just in time." He says. She nodded softly before looking away. "Why did you save me?" She asks. Remus was taken back by her question, but answered. "I wasn't going to let you die." He starts. "You did once." She muttered. That set him off.

"How many times do I have to tell you, I couldn't protect you, Kylie. Sirius was arrested, Lily and James were gone, Peter betrayed us. I couldn't protect or raise a five year old." He exclaimed. "Because of what you are?" She whispered. He went silent. "It was better for you to be saved, then have me raise you." He says. Kylie sighed and looked down.

"I'm sorry for what I said." She whispered. "It may have seemed like I meant it, but I didn't. None of it." She adds. Remus sighed. "You have every right to be mad with me. Hate me, despise me." He says. She shook her head. "No, I don't. Because you're my best friend. And best friends can't stay mad with each other." She says. Remus smiled as she wrapped her arms around him. He did the same and sighed.

The next day, Kylie awoke to the sound of Bree. "Kylie, wake up." She whispered. Kylie opened her eyes, but was engulfed into a hug. "Blimey, Bree. You're gonna suffocate me." She exclaimed. "Sorry, I was just so worried. Everyone was." She says. Kylie sat up and smiled. "I'm okay, I promise." She says. Bree smiled and nodded. "You going to classes today?" She asks. "Dunno." She replied.

"Well, let me know if you decide to. I'll be in the Great Hall, eating my worries away now that you're better." She says. Kylie chuckled. "Alright." She says. Bree smiled before heading out of the dorms. Kylie sighed and started to get ready for the day.

Once she left the dorms, she walked down and into the Great Hall where she found Kevin, Bree, Hermione, Ron and Harry sitting. "Hey guys." She says and sat down. "Thank god you came. Bree won't stop eating." Kevin says as he tries to take her plate away, but she swats his hands away. "Hands off the food." She says. Kevin pulled his hands away and huffed.

"So, how did it go last night?" Kevin asks as he turned towards Kylie. "How did what go?" Bree asks as she took a mouthful of toast. Kevin and Kylie cringed before returning back to their conversation. "Let's just say, I got my best friend back." She whispered. Kevin smiled, but Bree furrowed her brows. "Best friend? I thought I was your best friend?" She says. "That's not what she means, Bree." Kevin says. Kylie chuckled before the bell rung.

"We have to get to class." Kylie says as she picks her things up. "We'll see you at lunch, yeah?" Kevin asks. "Well, duh, I mean, it's lunch." Bree replied and grabbed her things, before rushing off. The two chuckled and walked out and towards DADA.
