I spent the rest of the week visiting Jordan. I managed to persuade Emma to let me see him, so she gave me instructions to where I would find him. I had to look for him on my own, since I didn't want to get Emma into any trouble. She has a hard time as it is.
Once I found the cells, I took an old cricket bat from a nearby cupboard, so that when I opened the door, the guard on duty wouldn't be able to catch me. After successfully knocking him out, I dragged him to an open cell and looked down the hall for Jordan.
It was easy to figure out where he was, and when he saw me he looked like a child in a candy store. It was unfortunate that Alec was the one with the key to set him and the others free, so I had no choice but to visit them everyday without taking them with me.
I remember apologizing to Jordan for letting him down but he didn't care. He just wanted to see me.
By day five of my working but slowly progressing plan, I decided to visit again. Just after lunch, I snuck out of my room, where I was locked most of the time, and slowly made my way to the jail.
I headed around the corner, down the left hall, down the second right, and down the stairs three flights. It tired me out, but I wasn't so affected now because I saw Jordan often enough and I didn't get injected with drugs anymore.
This time however, something was different.
I went downstairs and opened the door. The guard was well and truly dead by now, so I had no trouble getting in. Alec and Martin never came anywhere near here, neither did they check on me, that was George's job.
But with the guards out of sight, and my powers stronger than ever, I decided to go in for a visit.
When I rounded the corner and reached Jordan's cell, he wasn't alone. I looked to Charlie and Georgia, and they ushered me to leave, but I didn't listen.
Standing with Jordan in his open cell, was Alec Summers. I froze in my spot, my feet apart, and arms straight down by my sides.
Alec slowly turned, his back covering Jordan from my view. "What are you doing here?" He asks, and my heart skips a beat.
"I.... I um...." I had no words for this moment. What was I supposed to say? I can't tell him I was down here to see Jordan, because his wife Emma thinks I should get Jordan out of here, can I?
I covered up quickly, "What are you doing in here, Alec? You don't look like the kind to hang in a jail cell?". He stepped towards me, astonished, and leaned against the bars.
"I can go wherever I want to in my own home. However, you are not permitted in this area, so I ask again, what are you doing here?".
Oh god. The possibilities of getting caught run through my head, and I look to Jordan for guidance. He shrugs from behind Alec, and leans back against the wall.
"I just, I left something here. One of the guards let me in". Alec laughed, loudly, almost spitting in my face as he closed the door to the cell, locked it up and tucked the key in his pocket.
He stepped towards me, every artery and vein in my skin pulsing with nerves and intensiveness. I took a step back, and tripped into Charlie's cell.
"Don't touch her" Jordan threatened weakly, and Alec turned to him in disgust. "You shouldn't care what I do with her, you don't love this rat" he looked me up and down, and scoffed.
Jordan gave in and recovered his worried expression. "We're not going to let you do anything with her" Charlie defended, the weakness present in his voice too.
"Ha! You think there's anything you can do to control me? You must be kidding!".
I stared him in the eyes, the cold brown colour scarring my own. I gripped the bars behind me, and my knuckles turned pale as I gripped harder and harder.
Georgia tried to stand up, and when she finally did moved to the front of the cell, and held a fist up to Alec.
"You'd be surprised how well I can put up a fight" she threatens, slumping down to her knees on the cold concrete floor.
"I'm sure your not that strong after being so drugged up, you probably don't have any idea what your getting yourself into!" Alec started yelling, his voice echoing down the hall. No one seems to be coming to his assistance yet.
The anger started to build inside me. I could feel my blood boiling, and the intensity of the situation caused me to do one thing. The power inside me was apparent when I showed my strength for the first time.
The limp glass bulb crackled and popped, and eventually shattered into millions of pieces. I ducked my head down, covering my face with the sleeves of my hoodie.
Alec was directly in the line of fire, as the shards of glass cut him in the neck and arms. He just stood there, until the shower was over. Jordan turned away, trying not to laugh, and Charlie and Georgia did the same.
Alec's face turned bright red, and I held back my own laughter. "Who did that?" He demanded for the answer, his hands bawling into big, hard fists.
It was suddenly clear to me that he had no idea what I could do. He didn't know that it was me, and I had the perfect opportunity to strike with my best efforts.
I decided I needed to act fast so that he wouldn't have time to figure out what I was doing.
I took one step towards him, and said, "Shards of glass are the skies diamonds" and with one swift flick of my clenched wrist, another light bulb smashed.
Alec screamed, and I stepped back. I bent the bars on Jordan's cell, pushing my brain to it's limits, and he was able to climb out. I did the same with Charlie and Georgia, as Alec was pulling pieces of glass from his arm. I wasn't sure I would be able to do it, but now that I was convinced, it did.
I helped them get out of the jail first, and stayed behind to deal with Alec. He ran towards me, his wide frame attacking me from all angles. Before he had time to touch me, I pulled the bat from behind me which was still against the wall, and swung it over his head.
He fell back suddenly, his head cut and bruising from the bash. He stumbled on his feet until he stopped against a wall, and fell to his feet. With that I ran, and ran and ran, until I caught up to Jordan.
I stumbled up the stairs, around a corner and found them in a slow, tired jog towards the second floor. "Jordan" I said, panting. "We need to get out of here".
He looked to me for guidance, and I nodded as Georgia took in a deep tired breath. "Follow me".
