The clock stroke six o'clock, and I raced downstairs. I heard Jordan's excited car horn as I reached the kitchen. I looked through the small glass pane, to see Jordan's nice Jeep replaced with an Audi R8. Oh my god! I've never seen a car this nice, but I was now very excited to get in it. I never had a car of my own, firstly because I never learnt to drive, and also because in our little family with Bonnie and I, we barely had money for a shopping trip.
I grabbed my silver clutch bag and headed for the door. I left a quick note on the fridge for my Mum, explaining where I was. I checked my appearance quickly in the mirror. I was wearing my favourite black skinny jeans, with a white jumper, which had lots of little holes in it. Then I had on my new brown boots, and a maroon coloured scarf. This is by far the best outfit I've ever put together, though I had some help from Evelyn of course.
Once I was satisfied with my curly hair, I opened the front door, to find Jordan standing directly in front of me. He had a white t-shirt on, a black leather jacket and matching suit pants. He looked so hot. Jordan's always wearing tank tops and things that show off his muscles, but he looks so much better dressed formally. His hair as ruffled as it usually is, but t was just perfect to me. It always was.
"Shall we go, my lady?" he asks politely, offering me his hand. I smile and place my hand in his, following him to the car. He opens the passenger door for me and I get in. The outside of the car is fancy as you would expect, the black paint looks perfectly clean. The inside smells like leather, with simple black furnishing and grey seats.
"Wow" I say amazed, as Jordan gets in the car. "You like it? It's my dad's car, but he let me borrow it". I looked around, my mouth gaped open. "Your dad lets you borrow his car? We should go on dates more often". He laughs as he starts the car, the engine roaring to life magically. We drive away from my house in an unusual direction. "I will try and take you on more dates" he promises.
After ten minutes, Jordan pulls over on a random street. "Wear this" he pulls out a black eye mask, the kind you would sleep with. Who actually uses those things for sleeping? "Why? What's this for?" I ask, curious.
I take the mask from Jordan as he explains. "I want it to be a secret where we're going. When we get there you can take off the mask, but only when I tell you". I nod, putting on the mask. It's thick, so there's no way I could see through it. "Can you just give me a hint?" I ask, turning blindly towards Jordan. "No way, you'll have to wait and see" he says, and I pout, sticking out my bottom lip, and shrugging down in the seat. "Fine" I protest.
We drive for a while. Jordan turns on the radio, and as expected the music blasts through the car, burning my ears at the volume. He quickly turns it down, and changes the station. The song 'Ride' By Twenty one Pilots starts playing, and I sing along. They are one of my favourite bands. Jordan laughs as I sing really terribly; but that's what you get for putting a mask over my eyes.
"I just wanna stay in the sun where I find, I know its hard, SOME TIMES!" I yell, and Jordan begs me to stop singing. "Yeah, I think about the end just way too much, but it's fun to FANTASIZE". Jordan laughs, and eventually gives in and sings with me. "Oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my riiiiiiddddddeeeee" we both sing, laughing at each others terrible singing.
Eventually the car turns onto a gravel path and stops. "Can I look now?" I ask impatiently. "Go ahead" Jordan replies, and I frantically pull off my mask. I open my eyes and gasp at the beautiful sight surrounding me.
There were loads of other cars piled around us. I looked up and saw a huge screen. We're at a drive in movie theater! I look beyond the screen and see the beautiful sunset. The Christchurch hills are a dark black colour, covered from the light, and the horizon above it is a sunset orange. The lights of houses and other cars sparkle in the valley, and the screen lights up with the title 'The Fault in Our Stars'.
"Awwwww" is all I can muster. It's magnificent here, absolutely beautiful. "Thank you, Jordan" I say, unbuckling my seat belt and moving closer to give him a hug. I kiss him passionately, and I suddenly realize I'm straddling him, basically sitting on his lap. I blush in embarrassment, and casually move back to my seat. "Anytime, princess" Jordan replies, looking a little embarrassed himself. I hope I didn't just ruin everything.
We sit back in our seats, tilting the chairs back like loungers. Jordan grabs a blanket from the back seats, and lays it over both of us. I rest my head on his shoulder as the movie rolls. It's really sad, and I cried heaps, just as I had last time I saw it. I wipe away the tears from my eyes and say to Jordan, "I will love you until the last breath leaves my body". He turns to me, lifting his head from mine, and leans forward, slowly.
It feels like time has almost stopped. All I can focus on is Jordan. Jordan, Jordan, Jordan. As he leans into me, his lips an inch or so from mine, I can feels his heavy breathing warming my skin. His breath smells like mint, and I can't help but sniff. I close my eyes naturally, waiting for his lips to combine with mine. Eventually Jordan whispers, "Missing you is my hobby" he leans closer, resting his forehead on mine, "Caring for you is my job" he places a hand on my upper thigh, squeezing it gently, "Making you happy is my duty", Jordan leans down and kisses my neck. I let out a small sigh, and he laughs softly.
"And loving you is my life". My heart stops. When someone writes in a story "My heart skips a beat" it really doesn't. It just stops entirely. I can't breathe, but I don't want to either. Jordan stares into my eyes one last time, and I know he really means it. The truth is, I love him too.
The world is forgotten about as we kiss. Just kissing makes me feel head over heals. The movie must be over by now, as I can here the quiet engines of cars moving around us. Nothing else matters this much to me. Sure, I have the most amazing best friend, Evelyn, and all my other friends, but nothing compares to this kind of love. Unless you've ever been in love, you will never truly understand, it's just something that's so special, only someone in love will know pure, true love.
