The crowd made of Summer's staggered backwards a couple of steps as the group ran towards us, stopping in a straight line, each one staring down a member of the Summer's.
"Bring it on!" The leader, Uncle Carl said confidently. He took a step forward from the rest of the Kingsley's, and smiled in my direction. I returned the warmth, getting the feeling that we might just win this.
Alec was the colour of a tomato, as his face turned bright red, his anger blowing in white puffs out of his ears. He held up a single fist, his family members following his unsteady lead.
"Try us" he said, with uncertainty in his voice. I looked at Jordan, who's expression showed he wasn't scared in the slightest. Throw it, I instructed.
With a quick and strong flick of his wrist, his strong and toned arms threw the metal weapon straight towards Alec, who was too terrified to do anything, until it was too late.
The sharp pointy end of the bar aimed straight for his chest, and made a squelching noise as it dug into his empty heart. Alec staggered backwards, and fell to the ground, inches from his daughter who was stood behind him.
Natalie screamed, diving forward to her father. Everyone stayed silent and still, unsure of what to do next. Jordan had just killed the killer himself, the leader of the pack.
"Oh shit" Jordan whispered to me, freezing in his position. He wasn't intensionally aiming for his chest, but by the looks of things the stress got to him.
Natalie's eyes were welling with tears, eventually streaming black mascara down her wet cheeks. She knelt down next to her dead father, stroking his hair and laying her head on his bleeding chest.
His nephew George stepped forward, helping Natalie from the ground, and they stood together, just staring at us, before walking away inside the house.
"You're going to regret that" Martin finally spoke up, clenching his fists by his side's. He walked forward and pulled the metal from the dead body, holding it tightly in one hand like a sword.
"Attack!" He yelled, sending forward his troops to fight to the death. Everyone ran forward, and the two families collided in the centre of the grass area, knocking each other with their fists and blowing them to the dirt.
Martin and Uncle Carl ran towards each other, as the leaders of the tribes, and began to fight. Martin swung the bar at Carl, and he ducked down to dodge the blow. He pulled out a pocket knife, and swung it at the old man.
Carl sliced him in the arm, causing a stream of blood to flow from the place, just above a tattoo on Martin's shoulder. He also hit him in the face with his other hand, causing his head to snap back in response.
I watched with an astounded expression as Martin snapped back into place and kicked Carl in the leg. He ran back wobbling, trying to stand still. I began to go and help when I was charged at by a rather miniature girl in a black jumpsuit, swinging a knife at me.
I held out my bar in defence, giving the spare one to Jordan, who was now fighting with his bare hands.
"Jordan!" I yelled, throwing it over as I hit the girl in the ribs with the metal. She screamed in pain, and fell to the ground. I put one foot on her chest, and stood over her strongly.
"You're dead to me" she said with a snarky tone, and I dug my foot in harder. "Sorry sweetheart" I smiled, and simply walked away, leaving her on the muddy grass in the corner of the area.
I didn't have the heart to kill her. She was so young, much younger than me, and although she was talking to me like a horrible person she was probably nothing like that the rest of the time. Thinking about how different some of these people's lives could be away from this was interesting.
I was hid in the corner, away from the fight to catch my breath. I watched for a minute as Jordan was knocking out a large girl with a very tired expression.
It felt wrong to be killing people like this. Most of them you could tell weren't here for a fight, all they wanted was to settle things and make peace. I wish there was more I could do.
After what seemed like atleast half an hour, the fighting settled down into a quiet buzz. Most of the Summer's had surrendered, including Martin, and were lying on the grass quietly, patching up wounds and wiping dried blood from their skin. Emma came out to help some of them, while our family stood tiredly watching.
Carl came over to Jordan and I by the road, where the cars were parked roughly. He gave us both a meaningful hug and reassured us. "We're done here, we've said our peice, let's go" he suggested, and I nodded, tears forming in the corners of my eyes.
He went away to collect the rest of the family, and help the very few injured we had as a result. I realised then that through this hole thing no one had used a single ability to get an advantage.
Everyone looked tired out as they headed away from the war scene to the vans, and climbed in with what little energy they had. I walked over to the house to say goodbye to Emma. Maybe now that Alec is gone she would have the chance to go somewhere that she can be happy.
I was the last to get in the car. I got in the last one, just before it left, removing my jumper and sitting next to Jordan in the passenger seat. He drove us for half an hour to his house, and parked the car in the drive next his dad's. Of course the Summer's didn't have us far from home.
He lead me inside and we went straight to his room. Jordan opened the door and flopped straight on his bed, lying face down with his head in the pillow.
I sat next to him, "I need some sleep" he said, his eyes dropping as he turned around to face me. I lay down next to him and rested my head on his chest. "We can sleep in a minute, let's brush our teeth first".
"Because clean teeth are the most important things right now" Jordan stated, getting up sluggishly after me and heading for the bathroom.
"Well I'm sure you haven't cleaned up properly since we've been gone" I said, getting my toothbrush from the draw. Jordan did the same and squeezed a huge blob of paste on his brush.
"That's a lot of tooth paste for one person" I laughed, as I brushed my teeth with my own minty paste.
Jordan shrugged and carried on. I spat in the sink and rinsed the brush. I went back into Jordan's room to look for something to wear as makeshift pyjamas. Our bags from the trip must be left somewhere on the side of the road where we were kidnapped, I thought.
I found a large sized t shirt and got under the clean warm sheets. Jordan came out and stripped down to his boxers, showing his toned muscles and stomach. He climbed in behind me and snuggled close to me, wrapping his big hands around my waist and kissing my neck. The feeling made me smile as I fell into a deep sleep.

Writer's fact of the day: when I'm writing these chapters, I like to make sure each one has an even number of words in them. Yes, call me crazy, or ocd, but it's true.
Thank-you for reading. See you in the next chapter.
