Chapter 4

Casey's POV

I ended up being sent home, i got home and slept the whole time which was heaven. When I woke up I was feeling so much better but not great, so i decided to still go to school. I slipped jeans on and a baggy t-shirt with sneakers. Thank god I dont have gym today, I thought as i grabbed my books and left the house.

"Who the hell are you?" Brittney said as soon as I walked into school.

"I'm Casey, we've been in classes together before, I was your lab partner for half of the year last year" I said back to her.

"Well I heard what happened yesterday, stay away from my man" she said flipping her hair and leaving.

Well that was just straight-up weird, I thought walking away. Why does it matter, Declan was just being nice, and why is Brittney getting upset? These type of questions running through my head, I was so lost in thought that I didn't see the door swing open. I fall to the ground after getting smacked in the face.

"Ouch" I said rubbing my fore head and nose, "Watch where you ar-" I looked up to see Derek.

"I'm so sorry!" he panicked and squatted down, "Are you hurt any where, I'm so sorry." I looked up at him as he lightly touched my forehead.

"I'm ok thanks" I couldn't take my eyes off of him, his dark brown short hair that matched his chocolate brown eyes, he just looked so attractive.

"Casey, you sure your okay?" I snapped out of my daze. By now he was sitting next to me and he was leaning against the wall.

"Yeah" i said leaning against the sme wall, "But the real question is are you?" i asked him.

"You're the one i just hit with the door and your asking if I'm okay?" he chuckled.

"Well I'm fine, my head doesnt really hurt and my butt miht be sore tomorrow but nothing big but you sound upset" I said smiling.

He rested his head on the wall, "You noticed that?" he said with a sigh.

"You would have to be dumb or blind or deaf to not notice."

"Just stressed, and thinking a lot" he said.

"About what?"

"You really wanna know"

"No I'm just asking you for the hell of it" I said dripping with sarcasm.

He looked at me and smirked "Its just frustrating sometimes, I try so hard and get no where. Then school is getting tough and Brittney is so annoying."

"Well it happens to everyone where they get to the point were they want to stop and give in but stay strong and I'm here if you need to vent. Then in school get a tutor or have a homework group to help you understand the stuff more. I don't know what to tell you about Brittney cause I doubt she will ever change." I told him looking him in the eye. He stared right back and we sat there not saying a word, finally he made a move and grabbed my hand.

"Can you do me a favor today?" he asked breaking the silence but not letting go of my hand, which i didn't mind, it felt right.

"Sure"

"Can you stay after practice today with me and help me out" his thumb started to gently rub my hand. "I'll even give you a ride home"

"Yeah, I'll love to help" I smiled at him.

"Thank you" He smiled at me.

"No problem, we are friends aren't we"

"yeah, since we are friends, we should exchange numbers" he smirked.

"Oh, so you just wanted my number the whole time" I chuckled and we exchanged numbers.

"Totally" he rolled his eyes and let out a short laugh. I pulled my hand from his and pushed him, "Woah, getting rough there" We both laughed.

"You haven't seen me rough" I winked and laughed so hard.

"So you like it rough" he gave me a look. Then the bell rang "Holy crap! We missed first block!" I kind of yelled.

"Wow, we did, didn't we" Derek stood up and offered me a hand.

"Thanks! Shall we walk together since we are going to the same place" I asked.

"Sure" he smiled and held the door open as I walked through.
