Delli's Pov:

A lie.

That was a lie, right?

It was all just a lie.

This is not the kind of price that I was willing to pay,  she came into my life without a warning and yet.

Why do I keep on loosing those people I hold dearly.

What's wrong with me..

----

"I'm home"

I depressingly said as I continue to remove my shoes at our doorway.  I heard footsteps rushing towards where am I standing when suddenly my Mom popped out.

She was breathing heavily and looked like she was about to lose herself when she suddenly run towards me and gave me a tight hug.

"You're home, thank goodness"

She said as she sighed and let all of her worries out. Somehow, this scene was familiar. This kind of hug was something happened before, this comforting warmth that even though how much I tried to calm myself down, I wasn't able to stop my tears from falling down.

"I--"

I wasn't able to contain myself, I kept on sobbing as she continued to rub my back.

This is so unfair.

"You don't have to say something for now, just let it out."

At that moment, I was able to cry it all out until I fell asleep. My mind went blank and I don't know what to think or do anymore.

-----

The next morning as I wake up, I felt a throbbing headache as well as body malaise. I looked at the time and it was already late so I moved quickly as I can.

As I went downstairs, I saw my brother and Mom dressed neatly as if they were going somewhere.

"Delli, are you alright?"

My mom asked as she gave that worried face again so I stood up straight and acted like I was alright so she can rest assured.

" yeah, I'm fine. Are you going somewhere?"

I asked.

"Well, I have an unexpected travel trip. They just called me up last night so I wasn't able to tell to you. Your brother has also a school trip. Both of us will be gone for 3 days and 2 nights."

"You looked like all of your energy are sucked up. Are you really all right?"

Now, even though I have a mean brother, seeing him worried is something that I can't brush off. Maybe I really don't look fine but I didn't want to bother them.

"Well, laugh all you want. I know my face look swell up crying all night."

I said confidently and yet he wasn't even smiling.

" Take a break from school for a while, you can easily catch up from their lesson. better rest for a while."

He added.

" Should I cancel my trip? are you really okay? "

Now my mom is worried than ever. Way to go for my brother so I glared at him.

"I'm fine," I grabbed a bread at the desk and took a bite "I'll be going first. Have a safe trip, don't worry. I'll ask Jett to stay over."
