Chapter 4

Vikk's Pov:

I walk into the last class of the day and I walk up to the teacher, I look behind me to see Pete standing there.

'This is the new kid he is a Mute' I sign to the teacher, he smiles and waves Pete into the class.

"What is your name?" He asks.

'Brandon Hutt.' Pete signs

The teacher smiles and shakes Pete's hand then tells him to follow me to my desk then sit on the one next to me.

Pete nods and I start to walk to my desk with him following. After we sit down Pete looks at me.

'Why were you hiding behind me?' Pete questions.

I let out a sigh and I look down at the ground.

'Because I like Lachlan, but I should not because he never noticed me anyways.' I sign back

I feel a hand under my chin and it pushes my head up, and I come up looking into Pete's eyes.

' He noticed you today.' Pete says.

'So he will forget about me tomorrow. And are we going to your house after school? If so I need to stop by my house.' I tell him.

'Yes, we are going to my house, and I invited to other people. So we are going to wait at the door at the end of class.' Pete states.

I nod my head and look at the board, I wonder who it is.

School ended and Pete and I stood out side of our class door waiting for some people.

"Hello Brandon." I hear a voice say. I look to my left to see Matt coming this way. I smile but then Lachlan steps out from behind him.

I look at Pete and he smiles sheepishly at me.

'it will be fine, just relax.' Brandon signs to me

I nod my head and I step behind Pete.

"So who's house are we going to?" Lachlan asks.

'We are going to mine, but first we need to stop by Vikk's' Pete signs. Matt then Translates to Lachlan and we start to make our way to my house. 

When we get there I open the door and I hold it open for the others, they walk in then I walk in after.

"MOM VIKK'S HOME!"

I hear some one yelling then little feet running down the stairs, I walk over to the sound and soon enough I see Joe, he jumps into my arms and hugs me tight. I smile and hug him tighter. I kiss his cheek and place him back down on the ground.

"Who is this?" I hear Matt ask

'This is Joe, he is my 10 year old brother.' I sign

"Well it is very nice to meet you Joe." Matt states smiling.

Joe smiles back and grabs my hand, and starts to pull me, I jester for the other guys to follow and they do, soon we end up in the kitchen. And I see my mother cooking.

"Hey Vikk, how was school, and who are these people?" My mom asks turning around to look at us.

I let go of Joe's hand and I walk over to where the paper is, but when I open the drawer there was none. I look at my mom and she is just smiling.

"If you are looking for the paper, I hid it. You are going to talk to me one way or another." I hear my mother say."

"Ma'ma, why don't you know sign language?" I hear Lachlan ask.

"Because I am going to get this boy to talk one way or another." I hear my mother say, I look over at Matt and he nod at me. I start signing to him.

"I am not talking and you are not getting me to talk, I will not when I am ready, Or made I will start talking to everyone but you." Matt translates for me.

"What are you doing?" My mom asks

"I know sign language, I have for the longest time. I am translating what he is saying." Matt states.

"Well, Vikk, you are lucky that you have a friend that knows sign language. Now what are your names." My mom asks.

"My name is Lachlan." Lachlan states.

" My name is Mathew, and this is Brandon." Matt states placing a hand onto Brandon's shoulder.

Pete waves and smiles.

"Why you are you not talking? Wait are you a Mute to?" My mother asks

Pete nods his head and my moms rolls here eyes.

'What do you want Vikkram?" He ask. I growl at her and she smiles.

"Brandon invited me over, and I am probably going to go weather you like it or not, because you are being mean." Matt translates for me.

My mom just waves her hand and I hug Joe before walking out of the house with the boys following me.

I get out of the house and I close the door.

'I am sorry.' I sign.

"You are fine, you didn't know your mother was going to do that." Lachlan states.

'' I thought you didn't know it." Matt asks

"I said I am struggling. I know what I am sorry looks like tho." Lachlan states

'Well lets get going." Pete says I nod my head and I start to follow him, and so do Matt and Lachlan.
