Chapter 5

Brandon's Pov:
( ' = Sigh Language / " = Speaking )

We left Vikk's house and as we were walking I could tell that Vikk was not very happy, I tap his shoulder and it looks like he is about to cry. But before I could ask anything he turns his head. I let out a sigh I walk up to my house. I open the door and I let the guys in.

I walk into the kitchen with the guys following and I find my brother and mother in the kitchen, they haven't noticed me yet, I tell the other to stay quiet and, I creep behind my brother and jump on his back. He screams and jumps up, my mother starts to laugh. I get off of my brothers back and sit there laughing. I walk over to my mother and give her a hug, she hugs me back.

"Brandon I hate you." I hear my brother say. I frown and I hide behind my mother.

"Jackson, come one he was kidding." My mother says.

"I know he was, doesn't mean I can't play back." I hear him say back

I walk out from behind my mother and I walk over to the others and tell them to come closer. They follow me closer to my family and I walk over to my brother and punch his arm.

"Hey!" Jackson yells.

I smirk.

"Brandon are these the friends? Will you introduce them?" My mother asks.

'This is Matt, Lachlan and Vikk." I sign

"Hi, I Am Matt and it is very nice to meet you" Matt states.

" My name is Lachlan, and happy to meet you." Lachlan states.

Then then both go and shake my mothers hand and Vikk just stands there.

'Vikk? Are you okay?' I ask walking closer to him. He shakes his head and puts on a smile.

'Hi I am Vikk.' He signs to my family.

"Well I am Jackson, I am Brandon's older brother by two years." he states. I roll my eyes and he smiles.

"It is very nice to meet you all. I am Brandon's mother. And I am going to guess that Vikk is mute." My mother asks.

Vikk nods his head and signs 'selective'

"Well welcome to our family, With Brandon being mute, you are welcome here anytime." Jackson states.

I smile and I hug him.

'We are going to be upstairs, love you both.' I sign then we walk up the stairs.

I pull them all into my room and shut the door and I look at Vikk, the smile on his face is gone and he is looking at the floor.

' What is wrong Vikk?' I sign to him.

'Nothing why?' He signs back.

'Because your smile was fake, you looked like you were going to cry all the way here, and you are not as cheerful.' I sign back

"I noticed it to. Right when we left his house." Matt states

'Fine, my mother is what is wrong. She doesn't love me for me. I can't talk to my brother, because my mother will not let him learn sign language. He doesn't understand why I don't talk, but he still loves me. My mother knows the reason and tries everything to get me to talk. Well she needs to get this thought her thick head I am not talking, and hiding the paper will not help me.'  Vikk signs, and cover his face with his hands.

I put my hand on his shoulder and Matt starts to translate what Vikk said to Lachlan. Vikk sits down on the ground and I sit next to him. he doesn't look up he doesn't move. He just sits there. I don't think he was even crying.

"Vikk, I am sorry that your mother is like that. She should not be that way. She should respect your decision. Now will you tell us why you made that decision?" I hear Lachlan ask.

Vikk lifts his head up and looks at Lachlan.

' The one person that showed me love, that cared for me died.' Vikk signs

"But you have your brother, he cares." Lachlan states

'But not as much as a father. I lost my father 3 years ago, and on that same say I lost all of my friends, then that week we moved. I stopped talking the day my dad died.' Vikk signs and he starts to cry.

I pull him into a hug and he cries onto my shoulder. Matt translated to Lachlan and Lachlan covers his mouth with his hand in a small gasp.

" I am really sorry Vikk." Lachlan states and sits down next to us.

I push Vikk's head off my shoulder and I look at him.

'You will always be welcome here, and if you want my brother or mother would be happy to teach your brother sigh language.' I sign.

Vikk eyes open wide and I see a smile forming.

'Are you serious?' He questions

I nod my head and he throws his arms around my neck hugging me. I give him a hug back and he lets go with a real smile on his face.

'Now, lets go play some video games.' I sign. Matt quickly translates and Lachlan and Vikk walk out of the room.

"That is very nice of you Brandon." Matt says.

I smile.

'Thanks, but it is nothing. I did the right thing. he should be able to "talk" to his brother. Not write it down.' I sign.

"Still, that is very good of you. And Vikk I think Lachlan should get some lessons to if all he knows is , I am Sorry" Matt states.

'I guess you are right. I will ask before you guys leave. Now lets go play some games.' I sign

Matt nods his head and walks out of the room and for some reason he looked a lot more attractive.
