And normally I would just forget that...

"Alexander! Where were you?!" James looked at him, obviously stressed.
"Out drinking with Adams, why?"
"Do you have any idea what today is?" James tapped his foot impatiently.
"Uh... Thursday?"
"It is March 16... My birthday..."

But obviously my armor was cracked.
"Oh, um, sorry Jemmy, I forgot... I promise, I'll make it up to you!" Alexander leaned in to kiss his disgruntled boyfriend, but James dodged him and stormed off to his room, tears in his eyes.
What kind of a boyfriend would forget that?
Who would forget that?
"Wow, what an ass. How could he forget your fucking birthday?" Thomas muttered under his breath, about ready to murder Alexander Hamilton as he and James discussed what had happened between him and Alex over drinks, the smaller of the two men crying into his beer as Thomas tried to comfort him, rubbing his back soothingly.

"James, I'm sorry... I-"
"Save it, Alexander..."

"James, please," Alexander had tears in his eyes.
