You reached in the basket and almost instantly pulled it back out when it landed on something small. You grabbed it and took it out, smiling at the small figure in your hand.

"Haha, come on, Mikasa." You laughed. She stood up and calmly walked to the office. You followed in after her and closed the door gently.

She leant against the desk and looked off into the distance boredly. You walked up to her and held out the voodoo doll.

"I thought it was best to not shout out what I got." You smiled as she took it.

"Eren..." She whispered as she took it in her hands and subtly, but still noticibly, stroked the top of the doll.

Only then did you notice that the doll was a perfect resemblance of the teeny-titan-shifter. A deep brown piece of fabric had been neatly sewn onto the head, briefly covering two sea-green eyes made from ink. The rest of the clothes had been made the same way, the smaller details outlined in a thin, black pen.

Wow, she really has a lot of time on her hands.

"That's really cool, by the way." You smiled as you sat on the edge of the desk.

Mikasa stayed silent, but gave a slight nod, inspecting the doll. After a few awkward moments, she spoke up.

"When Eren's not with me, I just hold this. It makes me... calm." She said quietly. She widened her eyes a little when she realised that she had actually shown some sort of emotion.

"Oh, I do the same thing with my locket." You said as you pulled at the chain from under your clothing. You opened the locket and smiled sadly at the pictures of your now-deceased family members.

Tears welled up in your eyes as you saw their happy faces smiling back at you.

"Hey." Mikasa tried to call you, but you ignored her and one tear fell.

"(Y/N), are you okay?" She tried again. You bit your lip, the memories blocking out her voice.

"Hey! What's wrong?!" She shook your shoulder. You finally snapped out of your moment and looked up at her, dropping your locket to let it land back on your chest.

"N-Nothing." You forced a smile as you looked down at the floor.

Her hand suddenly fell on yours. "Do I have permission to make you feel happy?"

"Of course, although you don't have t-"

You were interrupted by her placing a soft kiss on your forehead. "Don't be sad."

She moved down to your cheek. "It makes me sad."

Finally, her lips hovered over yours as she breathed out words. "I don't like it."

She gently kissed your lips, making you blush madly. Her other hand cupped your cheek as her thumb stroked away your tears. She broke apart and moved to your other cheek, kissing it quickly.

"Happier?" She asked, looking into your eyes. You searched for words and stuttered, blushing the most you had ever done.

"You know what?" She said, returning to sitting on the desk again, hands still connected. "I think I'll make a doll of you too. It'll make me feel better." She smiled a little.

"Th-thank you." You managed to speak.

Mikasa fixed her hair a little as you worked on cooling your face down. Hange suddenly banged on the door.

"Come out, come out, whereeeeeeeeeveeeeeer yoooooou aaaaaaaare~" She sang drunkenly.

"If you ever need cheering up, you know who to come to." Mikasa said, giving you a sly wink.
