All rights belong to the wonderful Stephanie Meyer - not me (oh, I wish...) I'm just toying with her poor tortured little characters!
By the way this takes place a couple of months after Twilight and before New moon.
Edwards PoV:
She won't speak. Ever.
She nods and gestures and writes us notes but never, ever speaks. I don't know why and I can't stop whatever is hurting her - I just hope it's not me.We're both sitting next to each other in our English class, watching an old version of Romeo and Juliet on the class T.V. I can't help but envy Romeo a little bit, at least he always knows when something is wrong with his love. Bella is staring intently at the screen but I can tell she's not really paying attention; every so often she glances up at me - as if she's guilty about something.
I watch her quietly tear a piece of paper out of her notebook; our teacher is lying half asleep on his desk, completely oblivious to Bella scribbling away at the letter she is writing. She doodles little hearts and flowers and stars in the corner and folds it neatly before sliding it towards me.
" Dear Edward,
I cannot tell you how unbelievably sorry I am about everything that I've done to hurt you; but I promise that after today I won't be able to hurt you anymore. I think it's best if we weren't together, so you won't be hurt by my silence and I won't be hurt watching you. Please tell Alice and the rest of your family that I love them - and you - very very much and that I'm really sorry that we can't be friends anymore. Trust me, it's safer this way.Lots of love,
Bella. XXXXXX.And with that note my whole life came crashing down.
