Chapter 7- Forces of Magic

"Elsa!" Emma said with great relief as morning had now risen and she had only seen Calypso for the last few interactions with people. "Please tell me you remember me."

"Of course I do. I have not seen you in some time...you were much smaller.'

"There is a witch here...she has erased everyone's memory. I am forced to stay here as Killian self destructs with alcohol and women-'

"but he loves you..." Anna added as Emma nodded.

"But doesn't even know me. You must find a way to get me my legs back! Please! I cannot stay here. I am fearful for what she will do...Killian is not who he once was now...he is now vengeful...selfish...dangerous even."

"We will get him back."

"I fear only I can. True loves kiss..."

"Who should we go to?"

She froze. "I do not know. I am not sure anybody is safe. But please, try."

"Of course!" Elsa promised as Anna followed her and Emma was left alone again. Several more hours passed before Elsa returned to deliver the news of no magic practitioners being available, no matter the price or the duty. In fact, they all appeared fearful of using their magic altogether. "Then find Ruby. Please. She will know who can help."

"Ruby?"

"She's a wolf."

Anna's eyes grew wide.

"One of those really hairy dog things? Those don't exist!"

"They do. Very much so. She is somewhere in the enchanted forest. I do not know where...but please."

"Emma....we will get you from this."

And yet again, Emma was left in the pond as those who no longer had memory were slipping closer into their old realities. Many hours passed before Calypso moved back to Emma with a large grin.

"Do you think I am a fool Emma?"

"What do you mean?"

Using a nearby flower, she rubbed it upon a clear rock before revealing Elsa and Anna walking through the woods. "Do not worry, I did not hurt them. I only sent them through a never-ending forest. They will never find anything-including their way out."

"What do you want?"

"I told you. I am simply doing a job."

"what is in it for you?"

Calypso leaned down to Emma. "Everyone has a price. And he found mine."

She remembered the phrase as Killian once told it to her-to never say it unless you wanted to summon the dark one. But she knew now that she had no choice. And therefore took a deep breath before speaking it.

"Rumpelstiltskin. Rumpelstiltskin...." She hesitated before finishing her summon. "Rumpelstiltskin."

Suddenly a puff of white smoke appeared and there he stood with a smile to see her.

"Dearie! Quite a position...new accommodations as well..."

"I was told you make deals..."

He paused. "Ah...I see where this is going...What is it you can give me?"

"what is it you want? You have followed Pan around for weeks. Summoned him to get vengeance on Killian. So tell me. What is it Killian did to you? I am sure I can make it right."

"You cannot bring back the dead, dearie..."

"Who did he kill?"

"My son. Bae..."

His humanity returned for a moment before she reached out to him. "How did he die?"

"I am not about to unravel my entire life for someone I despise equally as much as the one who ruined mine. You have nothing I want...."

"I have Killian's location."

"You do..."

"Yes."

"And why would I want it?"

"So you could take your vengeance."

"And you would offer it? so easily?"

"I know there is nothing else I can offer you."

"I do not want his location." Emma let out a sigh of frustration. "But I want you to owe me something."

"What?"

"That is it. You will owe me something when I call on you. I will give you freedom with your legs. But it will come at the cost of something owed."

"Fine."

"Then sign here." He said happily. "Pleasure dearie." He disappeared with his contract as she suddenly felt her legs turn back into just that-legs and feet-and joints! She crawled from the water before trying to walk again, only to fall the first few attempts. Almost as a newborn, she had to learn it all again. But she did so quickly as she knew she had little to no time. She knew her only ally that was not attacked by a spell had been Red, and she HAD to find her. Before Calypso found Emma.
