Lily's POV:
After I give Joshua a hug and say good bye to my family, I leave to go out with my friends. My mind is still on that red-masked turtle, I am debating whether are not to ask my friends about the situation. I mean, it might just be because he isn't someone you see everyday that intrigues me, right?
"Hey Lily, are you alright?" my friend Jess asks me. I open my mouth about to tell them about him, however I close it - deciding not to.
"I'm fine. Just a bit tired," I answer her, which wasn't a lie - I am a little tired. Jess just nods and we wait for Molly to show up. (I just made up these people, but I do have a friend called Jess) When she finally does, we begin to walk around talking about what we've done since we last saw each other (it's been almost 3 weeks Molly had been out shopping with her family and staying at home, and Jess had been camping with her family. They begin to talk about something else but I zoom out from their conversation when I see something move. After looking around and seeing nothing, I just try to forget about it. However, I can't help but wonder if it was the red-masked turtle I saw a few nights ago. A part of me hoped it was. I really wanted to see him again. Then my thoughts were interrupted again, but by Molly this time.
"Lily? Lily? LILY!!" I look towards her and she has a worried look on her face, same as Jess.
"What? What's wrong?" I question them.
"We asked if you have seen anyone you like over the past few weeks. Jess has while camping, she misses 'him' lots," Molly replies and I knew exactly who she was talking about (Jess has had a crush on (B/N) {Boy's Name} for a while now. Jess turns a bit red, obviously she didn't say that she missed him, but Molly might have read it from her face. Molly and I are good at that, Jess always wonders how we do it.
"Oh um, no not recently no," I answer trying to not make it obvious that I might be lying.
"Okay," Jess says as she looks at Molly, showing that they don't believe me, "are you sure your alright though? I mean that's twice you've zoned out of your surroundings. Also you were looking around for something. And both me and Molly know to trust you when you think something is wrong, considering last time we didn't we got ambushed by the Purple Dragons," Jess tells me, remembering that time. I remember it too: we managed to escape while they were distracted. We never told anyone, it was our secret. Mainly because if our parents found out they would freak.
"I'm fine really, I just thought I saw something on the roof, but it must have just been a bird," I say. They both nod. And we carry on with our day.
A few hours later
After, we went on a long walk, we entered a museum and looked around it, we got something to eat before we went shopping, to finish off the day.
We never talked about that situation, but my mind was determined to annoy me with it. Asking: Was it him? What if it was him? Could I see him again? My family asks me if I'm okay too, that's three times I've been asked today. What is wrong with me. I tell them I'm fine, then I excuse myself and go to my room. I go on my laptop for a bit before Joshua enters my room with my parents, he wants me to put him to bed. I nod and take him to his room. After settling him down I kiss his forehead and cover him up.
"night, Joshua," I whisper.
"night" he replies in his cute voice, ever so quietly, but I manage to hear it. I leave his room, go to mine and go back onto my laptop. I don't know how long I was on it before I hear my parents go to bed. If I want to see him again then this will be as good a time as any. I wait a few moments for my parents to fall asleep then I hide a pillow under my cover and grab my things before sneaking out oft the house once again. Hoping to find the turtle that has been on my mind for days.
