#33: Father-Daughter Dances - huzzayn

Liam: “Butterfly Fly Away” by Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus was your song of choice. Your father had insisted you take off your heels and stand on his feet, letting him lead the dance just like you did when you were little. “I’ll always be your little girl,” you whispered, watching your father tear up yet again. Reaching up, you wiped the tear away and gave him another smile. “I know you will, and I know he’ll take care of you,” he continued, “He’ll make a great husband.” You felt him press a shaky kiss to the top of your head as you rested it against his chest.

Zayn: You and your father were practically silent, swaying back and forth to Martina McBride’s “In My Daughter’s Eyes”. “He’s a good man,” your dad murmured, tucking a loose curl behind your ear. “Yeah,” you sighed happily, “He is.” “And he loves you very much,” he added. “I hope so,” you smiled. He spun you around, making you laugh as he dipped you down dramatically, getting claps and wolf-whistles from the people watching. “Daddy’s little princess is all grown up, huh?” he smiled wide, placing a kiss on your forehead.

Louis: “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain had always been one of your favorite songs. Dan, Jay Tomlinson’s boyfriend, had taken over the father-daughter dance. It was a little depressing that you didn’t have a father to share that moment with, and Louis had assured you it would still be a wedding without it, but you insisted. “I might not be Louis’s dad, but I still consider you my daughter,” Dan told you, a soft smile on his face. “I’ll call you dad if you’d like,” you offered with a chuckle. “I’d like that, daughter,” he grinned as Louis approached, asking if he could steal you for a dance.

Niall: As “Because You Loved Me” floated through the speakers, your dad grabbed your hand, pulling you in. Yourested your hands on his chest as he laid his chin on your head. “You look beautiful,” he told you quietly, “truly beautiful.” “Thanks Dad,” you smiled softly, pressing your head to his chest. “I’m kind of sad we won’t be sharing a last name anymore,” he told you, and you heard the smile in his voice as you laughed. “But I know Niall’s going to take care of you.” Your eyes spotted your new husband across the floor, his mother, Maura, clutching onto him as she bawled. He met your eyes giving you a small smile before mouthing an “I love you” across the room to you.

Harry: “I’ll Always Be Your Baby” by Natalie Grant played quietly as your guests watched you and your father slow dance. “And tell Harry if he hurts you, I’ll-” “Dad,” you interrupted, laughing quietly, “we’ve discussed this. He’s not going to hurt me.” He grumbled a response as you swatted his shoulder, telling him to be nice. “I know, I will,” he sighed, “You know I like him and I know he makes you happy.” You glanced over his shoulder, seeing Harry take your mother’s hand, leading her towards the floor. Quite the charmer!
