Maya's POV *Flashback* "Riley that's not a good crowd. You shouldn't hang around them" I said to my best friend.
"Maya just trust me, they're really nice once you get to know them" she said
"Riley I know them I would've been them if it weren't for you so please I'm asking you to stop hanging out with them." I pleaded
"No Maya you can't tell me who and who not to hang out with" she said.
"Riley I don't want to see you become someone you're not, so please" I pleaded once again.
"No Maya" she said with a cold tone.
"Fine then you leave me no choice,RING POWER!" I shouted
"Ring Power denied"Riley said
"Riley come on"I said seriously this time.
"Maya I'm sorry. Just know that I love you and I care about you and no matter what happens you will always be my sister"she while giving me a hug then walking away. -------------Time Skip-------------- At lunch Riley seemed a little on edge.'I guess I'll ask her what's going on later' "Everyone can I get your attention please" Riley shouted. Everyone turned to her. "Maya is just a pathetic broken girl with daddy issues and is always alone because her mom is always working to get away from her. She's worthless and should go kill her self."Riley said. I was shocked. I never thought that Riley of all people, the person I cared about most in this world just betrayed me. I ran out of the cafeteria as fast as I could hearing laughter behind me. I ran to the only place I could think of where no one would be, the janitors closet. I sat in there and cried my eyes out until the bell rang. I quickly wiped my eyes and made my way to history class.
"Your lat- Maya are you ok?" Mr.Matthews asked my with concern on his face.
"I'm fine Mr. Matthew, I'm always ok" I said as I sat down in my seat. 'But I wasn't ok . Why would I be? My best friend just betrayed me, and my so called friends just stood there and watched' I can't forgive her. She's crossed the line, and Farkle and Lucas they just stood there and watched it happen. *Flashback Over*
It's been 1 year since that happened and that was the last time I talked to Farkle, Rliey, Lucas, and any of the Matthews family. I see Riley, Farkle, and Lucas in the hallways all the time we just never acknowledge each other. Since that incident I've been more guarded and I don't really trust anyone the way I used to trust Riley, but I guess it because I've learned my lesson. I guess that just proves what I've said a million times before "Hope is for suckers, you hope for things and you get crushed" I hoped that I would be able to have people in my life who I could depend on no matter what, and I had it for a while but eventually it faded just like ink on a piece of paper.
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my phone. I got a message on snapchat. I opened it it see one of the names I thought I would never see again Lucas Friar Aka Huckleberry, Ranger Rick, BuckyMcBoing Boing, Hopalong, and Sundance. After debating it for a few minutes I decided to look at it. Lucas: Hey Maya
I decided to answer because running away from my problems won't do anything.
Me: Hey Lucas, What do you want?
Lucas: Do I have to want something in order to text a friend?
Me:First off we're not friends and secondly what do you want?
Lucas: ok ouch and I just miss talking to you.
Me: If you wanted to talk to me you would've done it by now.
Lucas: Maya come on why don't you and Riley work things out?
Me: How can we Lucas she said unforgivable things and attacked me emotionally. She's basically the reason I've been bullied for the last year. And don't act all innocent I'm mad at you and Farkle too.
Lucas: I'm sorry for not sticking up for you I was just in shock that Riley would ever say something like that to you.
Me: It's going to take a lot more than sorry. As Mr. Matthews once said "that kind of forgiveness doesn't come that easy"
Lucas: Please Maya I miss hearing you calling me nicknames, making fun of me, your sarcastic remarks, and that beautiful face of yours.
Me:..........
Lucas: Maya please
Me: What exactly do you want me to say Lucas?
Lucas: I'm not asking you to completely forgive me, just for you to at least talk to me when you see me at school. like I said I miss your voice and that beautiful face of yours.
Me: I'll think about it
Lucas: Thank You
