The big day arrived so soon, and I was standing in the middle of the departure lounge, hugging my friends and family goodbye.
'We'll miss you so much,' Stacey whined, wrapping me in a bone crushing hug. Kate wrapped her arms around the two of us, forming a group hug.
'Just remember that you're still a babe from Perth, even when they try convert you.'
I chuckled, poking my tongue out at her, 'Ill always be faithful to Perth.'
I said my goodbyes a couple other friends, before embracing my parents in a big, long hug, trying hard not to cry. The loud speaker announced 'flight 273 to Sydney' and I pulled out of the hug.
'We'll call and visit as often as we can,' my mum smiled, kissing the top of my head. I nodded, calling one last 'bye' to everyone, before walking into my gate with my carry-on in tow. I was almost at the end of the gangway, and I turned back to wave at them all, but they were mere blobs in the distance now.

'Welcome to Sydney' the sign read. Well fair enough, but where were the signs for the bag collection?
I wandered around before finally coming to a significantly small sign with arrows to 'rentals, departures, luggage belt'. I collected my two suitcases, and started on my next mission of finding the bus place.
The bus took me nearly right outside a complex called 'Wenbrook Park'. I found the entrance, and glanced at the tag of the key which had arrived in the mail a few days earlier; number 113. I walked along long strips of corridor, getting closer to the number I needed. I scanned the left wall's door numbers, not noticing an oncoming person. I bumped into a male, my suitcases tripping over the back of my legs in the process.
I fumbled to pick up the fallen baggage, before my eyes rose up to the male I had collided with.
He looked a little older than me. His hair was a light sandy colour, messily tousled and flopping down onto his forehead. Creamy brown eyes framed by a pair of glasses met mine in concern.
'Are you okay?' He asked.
'Yep, I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going.'
'No worries,' he nodded, glancing at my suitcases, 'Are you moving in here?'
'Yeah. I was trying to find my blimmin' room but I can't find it,' I sighed.
He noticed my key in my hand, '113? You're in the right place!' He announced, his cheeks dimpling as he smiled at me. He took my key and turned it in the lock of the door on the right beside us.
I thanked him, wheeling my cases into the little modern apartment. I looked around, the brown eyed boy standing in the doorway.
'So you have one of these apartments?' I asked him.
'No, no, I dont live here,' he smiled politely, 'My mate does though. I was just coming to see him. Me and my other friends are having dinner at his tonight.'
'Oh,' I said, 'well don't let me hold you up.'
'I don't mind. Hey, why don't you come join us, I'm sure Calum would love to meet his new neighbour!'
'Really? That's a really nice offer,' I smiled.
'Its nothing,' he shrugged' Im Ashton by the way.'
'Beth,' I put my hand out for him to shake. He chuckled at my gesture, dismissing the handshake and pulling me into a big teddy bear hug.
I followed Ashton along the corridor to the apartment 3 doors down. He banged once on the light wood before turning the handle and strolling inside.
