DEADLY CONSEQUENCES

The journey to the alien world was long. Our fleet of ten ships was bound for 'Terra Von-Doom' as Miles named the planet. As we drew closer, a critical warning alerted us that Terra Von-Doom had its weapons locked on us. I concentrated on slowing the ship down, then I sent out a message to the planet. In the message, I explained that we were not, in fact, attacking the planet. Shortly after, we received a message, undoubtedly from an advanced planetary artificial intelligence. The message consisted of a warning, that we will be watched and if a threat is detected, we would be atomized.

We continued on our journey, and in four hours we arrived at Terra Von-Doom. The planet looked far larger than Earth. That revealed something about the inhabitants. Their thruster technology was far more powerful than ours, as they needed to push through seven percent more gravitational force compared to us.This race's technology was indeed very capable. The communications console chirped as a message came through. From the data signature, it seemed to be an automated message from a planetary artificial intelligence.

Eons ago, It seemed, the world's intelligent life died off. From orbit, we saw forests and seas of salty water. Brown and yellow with decay, with blue and red patches in different locations. It looked dead, but I thought that given time, we could create an oasis in this world.

The technological planetary ring was immense and menacing. Weapons littered the surface. We counted a massive amount of giant hanger bays, with untold numbers of craft. How this planet fell I can't fathom.

After moments of looking in awe of the planet and its defenses, I send a request to the planets A.I. to let us dock with the ring.

Suddenly, an intense wave of bright white and yellow light overtakes me. Static electricity surrounds and penetrates us. For a second I felt my hands go numb, as the intense beam of energy touches my skin. The planet was scanning us.

For that brief moment, I could hear the thoughts of my wife, and Miles. They were thinking of things that might happen in the future. Gory images and hopeful ones. I wonder if the other two experienced the same thing as I did?

The moment passed just as I regained feeling in my hands. I look back at Miles and Sarah, and I see shock and horror on their faces. "Okay, what the fuck was that, and why do I smell bacon?" Miles said.

"I believe we were just scanned. As for the bacon, I'm sorry." I said.

A look of confusion crossed Miles' face. "Why would you be sorry?" Miles said.

"Bacon fart."

The joke hit home as Miles chuckled and Sarah rolled her eyes.

Suddenly I start to feel dizzy, very dizzy. I can see that the other two are getting dizzy as well. I try to speak but the words come out mumbled. In seconds I fell to the ground, unconscious.

My eyes open and to my surprise, I lay on cold, wet ground. A dark, hazy sky with swirling brown clouds greets me. As I pick myself up, I call out, "Sarah! Miles!" But, as I search for any evidence that they could've been transported along with me, I find nothing but dead trees and skeletons of long dead creatures. This world is strange to the eyes. There are no green trees, no blue water to be seen around me. Just pieces of ancient stone, grey-brown sand, and the corpses of alien creatures.

As soon as I saw them, I recognized them from different religions on Earth. These were apparently the 'Gods' of the Ancient Greek. Their power unfathomable, their might supreme.

Something occurred to me, as I looked at my surroundings. The damage wasn't from battle. It was from decay. I deduced that the 'Gods' had probably died from disease or perhaps famine. A natural disaster? The alien trees seemed dead as the growth had obviously stopped. There were no leaves, no green; only the brown of decay. My hand fell to my side as I took the Rod Device from my belt. A smile came to my lips. This device can create anything. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the picture of a nice, big, and green tree. After I reopened my eyes, I saw a big, beautiful and vibrant tree filled with bright green leaves. The magic of life. Abundance everywhere I look. Where I saw lifelessness, I knew that just by creating this green tree, meant that I could rebuild this planet. One tree at a time.

Suddenly, I hear the rustling of footsteps on rocky ground and then a voice,

"You have proven to us that you are The Chosen. You will guide the galaxy to harmony. We will help you on your way. Your friends are with the others."

As I look behind me, my surrounding morph around me. The dead, lifeless planet wasn't lifeless at all. It was all an illusion! This is such a beautiful world. The trees around me are filled with red leaves. There is beautiful, clean blue water. The soil in the ground is fertile. Giant birds with four wings and long curved beaks, soar the skies. I see an alien being, short but looking very similar to us humans. Long blonde hair and turquoise colored skin. Garbed in blue quartz crystal. It was just as beautiful as it was unusual. The quartz had been shaped and placed over one another, like plate armor. But at the same time, it looked like it was peacetime clothing. I looked into the golden colored eyes of the alien, then watched as it walked to a building made of red crystal. An animal appears over a ridge, walking down a blue quartz road. I can't believe my eyes. This animal is a dog! One very large dog. It has the looks of a golden retriever, though it is the size of a horse. On top of it, Miles whooping as the giant dog jumps up and over a small boulder of blue quartz. In moments he is in front of me, smiling and laughing in a way I haven't heard seen or heard in years.

"Tod, it's good to actually see you now! Sarah, Stacey and I, were being held by the Threshathans - the aliens here. They told us that once you have proven that we were good stuff, we would see you again. What did you do anyway?"

I pat the dog on its side as I say, "When I woke up, I saw death and decay everywhere. I grabbed my Rod Device and created a beautiful, green tree. I was told that we are 'The Chosen'. That I would guide the galaxy back into harmony. The Threshathans will help us."

"How?" Miles asked.

A fleet of ships, no, creatures, appeared hovering over our heads. They looked like giant red, blue and green dragons equipped with what looked like organic, curved cannons. Energy weapons I thought.

"There is more for you to learn, but not this day. In time you will find out what your species is truly capable of. You are of a genetically gifted race."

What did that mean? Time will tell.

Suddenly, a giant warship appeared in the skies above this world. But this wasn't of Threshathan design. The Tao'Vak are here.

"It is alright, Chosen Ones. They cannot see or detect us. We are cloaked in the veil of the unseen. What shall be our action?"

There was only one thing we could do. Defend the world. Destroy the enemy. I look at my friends and the Threshathans, paused for a moment, then proclaimed: "War."

In seconds, all of the world's defenses activated. All dragon warships floating around the large planet ascended into a fiery battle. I marveled at the speed and power of these living ships. Gamma Flame Cannons ripped through the fifteen shield arrays, leaving the giant Tao'Vak warship defenseless. Although the battle was high up in the sky, I could see extreme scorch marks on the ship with my eyes.

As the dragons surrounded the damaged ship, a message came in from the ship, "I am the son of the Supreme Commander of the Tao'Vak! You will not take me prisoner, and you are too genetically weak to destroy me! Your kind will be exterminated! Beginning with you!"

I looked at Miles and Sarah while smiling, and responded, "Rip this fucker apart, burn the flesh from his body, tear his head off and fart down his throat hole!"

My will be done.
