Keep it low key | Chapter 7

Ugh. School. I'm so tired of that hell hole I'm glad I'm leaving next year. It's nearly the end of June and summer is just around the corner. Who knows what the holidays will bring me...
Walking into my bathroom I have a quick shower and the rest, Lool. Applying light makeup to my face, not bothering to put of full make up.

I apply lip gloss and go to my walk in closet. I pull out a backless crop top that ties around my neck and my waist and some ripped shorts. I put on a necklace to go with it that My brother had bought for me for my 15th birthday. I put on my red flip flops, thanking Lord that I painted my toe nails white a few days ago. Checking that all of my piercings are in I grab my school bag and phone I walk out of my room.
As I approach the kitchen my phone goes off.
" hello?" I say
" hey princess, I'm taking you to school today" he says excitedly. Shit. I can't just show ur with some white boy and expect everyone to be calm with it. People still think in doing things with Jesse.
" uh about that... I don't think it's a good idea" I say talking a stool at the kitchen counter.
" seeing as I need to tell Jesse that well... You know? And same for you. I just think we should stay low key for a while okay?" I question nervously. There's a Long pause at the other end of the line and I mentally curse for being so insensitive.
" yeah that's fine, see you around school" he says and hangs up. I groan out loud just as my mum walks in.

" my, the day hasn't even started yet!" She laughs and I roll my eyes.
" I know , I should be completely happy to be going to school" I say sarcastically and she scolds me , huh when has she hasn't.
" well I'm off" she says closing her thermal of coffee and grabbing her handbag.
" bye mum" I say kissing her cheek and she walks out. I make myself some cereal and I text Kayla to come pick me up.
She answers back immediately saying she will bee 5 min.
As soon as she arrives she tells me all about the party seeing as Jesse hasn't told me.
" Ariyah it was litttt! Everyone was dancing on errybody' and I saw Jesse kissing some hoe" she says looking at me with a frown.

" why would I care" I shrug. This is probably the best thing that's happened today... Even though the day has just started. This gives me leverage and full support for when I tell Jesse we should remain strictly friends.

" u thought y'all were linking?" She says and I roll my eyes.

" nah we are friends with benefits- well we're in gunna tell him I want just a friendship" I say shrugging checking my lipstick. Ugh I got it on my teeth.

" how do you think he will take it. Like what if he kicks you out the gang , if you go we all going" she says referring to herself and Ash.
" I doubt that will happen, even if it does, does it really matter? We were fine with out them" I say looking out towards the suburban area. Because it was still early the sun hasn't fully come up. Behind the houses you could see the sunrise. Nature is so beautiful- if science can explain that then feel free but that's all God!
" well what about me and Ty! " she says and I roll my eyes.
" r u guys even serious?" I ask. I could say the same for me and Cole...

" I really like him Ari!"
I sigh " nothing will happen! Okay, it will be fine" I reassure her.
We reach school and as usual the jaggz r sitting outside the school laughing and chatting amongst themselves.
" yo wassup kay" Tyler says and embraces her in a hug. I really don't want to make things bad for her relationship. Maybe I should talk to Cole first. I should just play along with Jesse until I see him. Yeah, that's what I'll do.
" hey baby" Jesse calls and I force a smile and walk into his embrace.
" hey" I say awkwardly. He doesn't notice and takes my hand leading me back to the group.
" yo, Ariyah, which position is better for girls " Aaron says and I roll my eyes.
" how would I know" say and shake my head.
" damn you a Virgin?" Tyler say.

" yeah, problem?" Tfq? So what if a girl is a virgin, there's nothing wrong with that. If she wants to save herself for the right wine then so be it.
" u one of those girls who wait till marriage?" Tyler say laughing and I slap his head.
" no dumbass, I'm just waiting for the right person Inih.." I say. I feel Jesse's hand flinch in mine and I realise what I said might of hit a weak spot. He can't of caught feelings... Could he? Lord help me if he has.
After what I said the bell rings and Jesse, Tyler, David, Daniel, Keion and myself and my girls walk up to the entrance. The aura we all carry is so strong, it has people in the halls moving out of the way for us. Well damn, I don't have to worry about anyone bullying me because I have 5 sky scrapers to protect me, not that I need protecting. I stay back and catch Ashlyn seeing as I haven't spent time with her in a long time.
