I was resting at my desk in one of the back rooms of the tattoo shop, when I heard a bunch of racket in the front. I huffed out my breath and stood up repositioning my tie and straightening my shirt out. Even though it was a tattoo shop I needed to look professional, there were too many people who thought that we were abominations and that that was the only job we could get with our tattoos. I stepped out of my office and down the hallway into the main room. I nodded at Austin and Ramon as they worked on their tattoos. I went around the desk to where Anthony stood and gave him a quick kiss and looked over his shoulder at our schedule.
“What was that racket that I heard?” I asked leaning against the desk. I looked at Anthony, who was flipping through pages finding more openings for the girl in front of us.
“There was some noise in the field. Probably just some kids!” he said giving me a smile.
“Yeah probably. How many openings do we have?” I looked at the girl and gave her a smile. She blushed and smiled back shyly, and diverted her eyes to the floor.
“Barely any. This whole month is practically full to the brink!” Anthony stated, he waved his hand around aimlessly. As if that would clear the schedule up.
“Well how about this,” I turned to the young girl that stood before us.
“My name is Frank and you are?” I stuck out my hand for her, waiting for her to answer.
“My name is Scarlet.” she stated shaking my hand.
“So, Scarlet what kind of tattoo were you thinking of getting?”
“I was thinking about getting a wolf.” she said quietly. She had looked down when she said it.
“Follow me to the back I’ll do your tattoo myself.” I guided her to one of the back rooms. I gave her a chair to sit in and I pulled one of the other chairs beside her. The room was one of our larger ones because it was actually for us to go into our wolf forms when the wait got to be too much.
“I’ve heard stories about this room.” I was surprised at what I had just heard and looked over at her to make sure that she had actually said that.
“Oh? Like what?” I questioned. Hearing that there was actual talk about this room intrigued me.
“Like there are always giant wolves in here.” as she said that she had a very sly look to her.
“Giant wolves? Really?” I chuckled slightly.
“Is that why you want to get a tattoo of a wolf?” I questioned her as I got the machine all set up.
“Kind of, I’m fascinated with wolves and when I heard that there were supposedly giant ones roaming the streets of New York at night I became obsessed! I mean can you believe the story!” she squealed the last part.
“But I know the one thing that everyone wouldn’t believe is having one right in front of them. One that is asking all of the questions, the most innocent one. They would never believe that one to be the brute killer!” my hair started to stand on ends as she said that and I saw her eyes turn animalistic.
She let out an ear splitting howl and she fell to the ground. Never once breaking our eye contact. I moved into the corner letting her do her thing. Just waiting for the right moment.
“Are you scared?” her voice came out in breaks of horrid sounds.
“No, not really.” I told her with a cheeky smile. She ripped into a wolf then barely standing taller than me. I chuckled quietly as she slowly inched her way near me. Finally she lunged at me but I was ready for it. I grabbed her muzzle and brought it down full force, sending her to the ground, I then flipped her over and looked straight at her as my eyes changed from human to wolf. Her eyes got huge and her mouth dropped as she tried scurrying away from me. I ripped into a wolf my huge paws landing on either side of her head.
