“Who’s next?” Grant barked out. We all looked around until two people raised their hands. I looked over to see that Michael and Anthony had raised their hands. I moved to the side for Anthony to get through, his hand slowly grazing my side as he walked, fingers pressing lightly into my skin as they dragged across my skin. Jared huffed out a light ew, and I watched as Anthony threw back his head and let out a loud laugh at Jared’s comment. He continued walking into the middle of the clearing until he was standing beside Michael.
“Are yah ready to get yer arse kicked?” Michael asked Anthony lightly. Michael and Anthony laughed until Grant cleared his throat.
“Mikey, you ready?” Michael nodded his head and turned his attention to Anthony, now serious.
“Anthony, are you ready?” Anthony nodded as he turned to Michael, getting into his fighting stance.
“You may begin.” I said. Michael started running straight at Anthony, but at the last second cut out towards the edge of the wooded area.
“Where ya goin, mate? Fights o’er here!” Jared yelled out. Anthony stared intently at Michael as he watched, and listened, to each movement Michael made. He started to hop a little as he waited and a few seconds later he started sprinting after Michael. Right after Anthony started after him, Michael turned and started running at Anthony for a second time. Michael jumped up into the air and at the last second Anthony slid under him, Michael’s body flying over him, but he didn’t let Michael go completely over him. After most of his body past, Anthony flung his arms up and grabbed ahold of Michael’s waist, pulling down and rolling. Which caused Michael to hit the ground and then be trapped under Anthony. Michael then ripped into a fox, pushing against Anthony, causing Anthony to tumble back. Anthony cooed at Michael in fox form, before ripping into a wolf, towering over Michael. With his longer tail and narrower face, Michael looked up at Anthony before launching himself at Anthony. Anthony stumbled back before regaining his balance and grabbing a hold of Michael’s midsection, throwing him off to the side before circling around and coming up to his side. Bending down Anthony placed his teeth around Michael’s throat. Cheering erupted once again, as Anthony trotted back over to my left side; Michael coming over to my right.
“Very strong fighter, that kid is!” Grant complimented about Anthony. I nodded my head in agreement as the next people went to the middle of the clearing.
“We have Robert against Jared, are you both ready?” Grant called out. All he got back was a short nod from both Robert and Jared, who were staring intently at each other. I looked between them before nodding slightly.
“You may begin!” With that they started at each other, sprinting forward until their bodies collided with the other. Robert threw punch after punch, each one landing exactly where he intended it to go. Jared tried to block Roberts punches but it seemed like no matter what he tried he could never stop Robert from hitting his targeted area. As I watched intently, Grant leaned over closer to my ear.
"Robert never misses." he stated quietly. I looked over at him with confusion painted across my face.
"Huh?"
"He never misses. He sees like targets or something, and he always hits his targets. It's his power, no matter what he's doing, he never misses." after Grant's explanation I turned back to the fight, but looked at it in a different light. No matter what Robert never missed, his punches connected to Jared's sides until he pull his arm back fully and drove one last punch, connecting with Jared's jaw and sending him sprawling. Jared landed on the ground with a loud thud and layed there, unmoving. Robert took a few steps towards him, when Jared’s hand shot up. Electricity surged through his body as sparks flew from his fingertips. Electricity shot out as bolts as Robert came running towards him, arm raised back ready to deliver the fatal hit. It latched on to him and sent searing shocks of electricity throughout Robert's body, causing him to freeze where he was. His body curled in on itself as he let out a blood curdling scream. The scream filled the air as Jared slowly walked over to him, ripping into a wolf and ever so gently, placing his jaws around Robert's neck. Cheers erupted throughout the clearing, as Robert and Jared took their places on either side of me. I nodded my head at them, looking at the way Jared was out of breath from the fight and fighting to keep his tough demeanor, as he tried to catch his breath.
As he panted beside me, I let out a small chuckle turning back to the clearing. I looked over to my side, at Grant, and raised my eyebrow in question. He swung his attention over to Jared.
“Seems to me, that the jungle rat can’t handle what my pack throws at him!” he chuckled lowly, bringing his attention back to me. He clasped his hands together and gave me a look I could only read as utter enjoyment, that of a small child opening up the christmas presents that their parents had told them santa brought for them, and I couldn’t help my pleasure of this look so I did just what I could; I broke out laughing and waved my hand for him to continue on. The smile never left my face as he brought his hands down and leaned forward.
“What do you believe we shall do now that everyone has gone against the other?” he questioned lowly. I looked around slowly before my eyes landed on Jacob and Cherry who were standing beside each other and chatting up different fighting techniques.
“We continue the game until we have a winner,” I turned until I was facing the middle of the clearing, puffed out my chest and declared what we all waited for.
“Jacob, Cherry, go to the clearing you will be the first to fight in this new round.” Jacob and Cherry ran to the middle and turned to each other, gently swaying from each side as they awaited the call.
“Have fun and remember the rules. You may begin.” with that they took off towards each other, bodies lowered as they raced across the clearing. Cherry weaved around, making sure not to look Jacob in the eye, while he did the same thing making sure to watch her hand movements with precision in case she tried to summon some wave or cause the ground to crack at their feet. But alas one fatal move was made on Cherry’s part, for as she grew closer to Jared she raised her head with her arm, her eyes locking with his and she froze in her place. The waves still crashing behind her, but she could no longer move. Her arm was still erect and causing to waves to surge forward, but the rest of her body stood still as a statue. At least that was until the waves came barreling through the lining of trees and towards them, it was then that Jacob sent fear through her eyes, causing her to fall in a screech of agony. The waves pummeled to the ground and Jacob slowly stalked forward until he was by her side, then ever so carefully he placed his hand upon her neck and lifted her up into the air, where he gently placed his teeth along the jugular vein in her neck. Slow clapping started as they came slowly walking back, this fight was faster than the others but it may have just been an error on my part for battle partners. All I knew now was that we still had a competition to finish.
