Chapter 13

About 30 minutes in they started with the polish and the radio station changed. Meliza continued to relax, taking deep breaths, the chair massaging her stressed back. Niall’s voice came over the radio. “Hey, I’m Niall, I wanted to send a special message to my girlfriend. I know I said some stupid things today, but I can be stupid sometimes, I’m just that way at times for no reason. I wanted to dedicate this next song to my girl.” A new song came on and Meliza’s jaw dropped, looking at Misty beside her. Misty shrugged. “Don’t ask me girl.” Meliza shook her head and went back to relaxing, heart pounding. Niall came through the door, with roses, all dressed up and went back to them, saying “Hey baby, I’m so sorry… forgive me?” Meliza blinked “Niall what are you doing here, you’ll get mobbed” she whispered. He kneeled by her chair giving her the roses. “You’re worth that and anything else that happens. Baby I’m so sorry.” Meliza bit her lip before kissing Niall softly. Niall kissed her back and Misty clapped. Meliza rolled her eyes and broke the kiss slowly. Niall looked at her, “Am I forgiven?” Meliza bit her lip and nodded. Niall grinned, sitting in the chair next to her. Misty’s feet were done and she moved to the manicure section, leaving them be. Meliza giggled when they started filling her feet, trying to hold still. Niall held her hand.Meliza handed Niall her sunglasses so no one would mob them and recognize them, entwining their fingers.

Misty watched them from across the room, making a face when they kiss. Liam texted her “Babe I know you’re probably busy, and i was going to come but i figured Neliza needed some time together. When you get the chance, text me back and I’ll meet up with you if you’d like. Love you!!!” Misty felt her phone go off and answered him almost immediately. “You can come now, they’re busy, not me. Love you too.” Liam smiled at the text and arrived soon, wearing some sunglasses. Misty had slipped out, waiting for him outside. Liam walked up and hugged her tightly, smiling. “Ello love” She hugged him back, her nails done. “I wanna see your nails” Liam grinned. She showed him shyly smiling. Her hands were done in a light blue and her toes were bright sparkly green. He grinned and kissed her softly “Beautiful, just like you” She kissed him back blushing. Liam hugged her close again “I’ve never been in one of those before” he said motioning to the salon.

“Well sometime you’ll have to go with me!” Misty said, leaning into him. Liam smiled “I can go in with you now?” he suggested. “I just got mine done silly, but okay.” She smiled up at him. “I meant to go get them” he laughed. “Okay,” She mumbled. Liam kissed her forehead and took her hand, and she walked back inside with him. Liam wrinkled his nose slightly “What’s that smell?” “The nail polish goofball,” she laughed for the first time in awhile in front of him. Liam laughed and kissed her cheek “It smells funny” “Yeah it does,” Misty says. Liam spotted the other two and cracked up laughing, holding his sides. “M- mist look” he managed. She looked; Meliza had guilt-tripped Niall into getting his nails painted, blue glitter to match hers. Misty smiled slightly, and Liam finally calmed down “What’s wrong love?” She looked up at him. “What?” “Something’s wrong” he mumbled. She shook her head. “I’ll tell you later,” She mouthed, leaning against him.   Liam bit his lip and pulled her outside “Love, talk to me” he whispered. She bit her lip. “It’s just…. with my birthday in two days, its just even more difficult with Dad being gone….” Liam stroked her cheek “I know love” he whispered. Misty leaned into him and bit her lip again. “You can let it out baby” Liam said softly. She shook her head. “No I can’t, I can’t….” She mumbled, looking up at him. “Yes you can” he murmured.

Misty stared up at him and shook her head, fear in her eyes. Liam hugged her waist “What are you scared of?” “What will happen if I do… I need to be strong for my sister.. she was closer to him than me.” “Baby she has Niall” Liam said softly. “So? I-I still have too….” Misty mumbled. The truth was in her eyes. Though she prayed it wouldn’t happen, last time she had been in a relationship she hadn’t been allowed emotions. She was scared of being punished for crying. Liam stroked her cheek “Misty, love listen to me. Emotions make us human, we all cry. There’s nothing wrong with it” Misty whimpered and leaned into him swallowing. She had been holding everything in since her Dad died. “Let it out my love” Liam encouraged. She started to crack, taking a shaky breath. Liam held her close. She whimpered and hid her face in his chest. “Can we go to the car,” she mumbled. “Don’t want t-them to s-see..” Liam nodded and picked her up, carrying her to the car. Misty let down her walls and started to sob. This was the first time she had truly let Liam past her walls, she clung to him. Thankfully the car windows were up and Meliza and Niall were inside. Liam held her close, rocking her. Misty tried to calm down, hiding her face in his chest. Liam let her get everything out, humming softly to her. Eventually Misty fell asleep in his arms, whimpering.
